Pros: Staff
Cons: See above.
Location: Great location, easy access to desired sites.
Friendly front desk. Facilities showing wear. Rooms ok, clean bathrooms. First tv didn't work so I moved. Door in second room was hard to open.

I reserved a nonsmoking room with a king size bed. We got bumped to a smokey smelling room with two doubles. We also got an unexpected wake up call at 5AM. When I checked out at the front desk it was verified that the call was made by the hotel. The woman at the desk said she didn't know how it happened and made no apology. I was told a manager who didn't even work at that hotel and was not available made the decision to bump us from the room we reserved. I want to say that anyone else who worked at the hotel that we encountered couldn't have been nicer. I think next time I'm in the market for a hotel room I'll try another hotel chain.

Shower was stained!!!!

Posted Apr 27, 2015
The show has water stains. The door seems loose like the lock was broken. Safety was an issue. Overall it wasn't the cleanest place to stay.

Comfortable Overnight Stay.

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Close to University of Virginia campus. No phone In room; must have been an oversight. At checkout, I notified the desk. First time missed the driveway, since the hotel itself is behind a fast food outlet. Went around the block and made it the second time. Near lots of restaurants and shopping. I would stay there again. I arrived early but was able to get into the room right away, which was great.

It was a pleasure having you as our guests at the Comfort Inn University recently and we are delighted to hear that you were comfortable during your stay. I am pleased that you enjoyed our convenient location near the campus of the University of Virginia as well as many shopping and dining options; however, I am sorry that you initially had difficulty finding the hotel. Our hotel is set back from Route 29 with a driveway marked by our sign, although the hotel itself is not as easily visible from the road. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back again soon. Thank you again for being our guest and thanks for sharing your experience with other travelers.

Close to Uva

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Most places to stay near Uva are pretty average at best. This place fits right in. It's ok, relatively clean, typically an older place that hasn't been renovated. They do have a decent breakfast and it's well lit and I felt pretty secure. It's priced accordingly,

Disaster

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: The staff was nice
Cons: Most everything
Location: Busy street but central location
At check in the 2 rooms that they assigned to us were not serviced yet. We came back at 5:30 pm and the room was still not cleaned. They sent me to other rooms including the key to some one else's room that I walked into. (embarrassing to say the least). On the 5th try, we finally got into a double room when we requested a king, we discovered the next day that there was urine on the toilet. Apparently they had not cleaned the room after all. I asked to have some one come up to clean and it took them 2 hours. Adding insult to injury, we were trapped there due to a marathon in town all rooms were booked. When I requested my money returned to me they agreed to pay $85 out of the $231 that we paid. Save yourself. DO NOT STAY HERE

Close to the University but unclean

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Upon arrival, toilet hadn't been flushed or cleaned since it's last use - cleanliness level was about to that standard throughout. It was difficult to wake the front desk employee for early checkout. I usually have a much more positive experience with Comfort Inn. The one in Williamsburg which we used the next couple nights was more on target with normal expectations.

disappointing

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: hallway carpets, bathroom tile, cleaning procedures
I have stayed at Comfort Inns all across the country. I have never had a disappointing stay until now. This hotel is a bit off the road and behind a fast-food restaurant, which caused me some security anxiety. The staff was pleasant enough. The elevator was old, rickety, and made strange noises when in use. The carpet in the hallway appeared as though it was installed 1972, and was very dirty and un-swept along the floorboards. The room itself was fine, but I dropped a coin next to my bed, and went to look for it, I could see dirt and small pieces of trash, as though no one had vacuumed under the bed in quite some time. In the bathroom, there was no exhaust fan, and the tile flooring seemed old and cheap.

Where is it?

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: The desk and other staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful. This hotel allows pets, and we felt like our dog was welcome.
Cons: Update facilities, deep-clean the rooms, re-seal toilets.
Location: We booked here because the rate was good, it was pet-friendly, & it was near the sites we were visiting - downtown Charlottesville & Monticello.
This hotel is not on the main drag - it sits behind a fried chicken restaurant, so the dumpsters from the restaurant abut the hotel's parking lot. It would have been helpful to know this before booking the room. The hotel lobby, hallways, and our room were not clean - the corners were filled with dust bunnies, and the bathroom was grungy. Also, the toilet was not firmly attached to the floor. If I leaned the wrong way when standing up, the toilet tilted and then noisily fell back down.

While it is never easy to hear that a guest has had a bad experience, we value such feedback as we strive to ensure a positive experience for future guests. I apologize for any difficulty you had in finding our hotel. We are indeed located a short distance off the main road, behind Raising Cane’s restaurant and I am sorry that you were not aware of that before arriving. I am also sorry to hear that we did not live up to your expectations or our own high standards for the cleanliness and maintenance of your guest room. I can assure you that your comments are being addressed internally, as well as having been escalated to our Corporate Team and we look forward to the opportunity to serve you better in the future. We sincerely hope you will give us another chance to exceed your expectations the next time your travels bring you to the Charlottesville area.
