Hotel close to the university.

breakfast was included. It is on the spartan side but then the price was really good.

Terrible

Posted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: It needs to be torn down and rebuilt.
Location: There are several restaurants in the area that stay open late. It is also close to UVA.
The room was all of the way in the back of the hotel where people were hanging out and talking. Parking was extremely limited. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. There were cigarette burns on the bathtub. The paint in the bathtub was chipping. There was construction all around. The place was a dump. I felt the need to get out of there as soon as possible and I will never stay there again.

Good location

Room outdated, electric cords exposed in the wall. 2 of the 3 lamps were broken. Hair dryer was broken. terrible parking, bushes planted across the sidewalk forcing you to walk to either end with your luggage. Breakfast staff was rude and unfriendly, spoke poor English and started tearing down before the advertised time, taking food away while we were preparing our plates. The carpet was nice and the mattress was new and comfortable.

Convenient Location-but not much else

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: It was a convenient location and the staff was pleasant. Oh, and I liked the grab bar in the bath/shower. Most hotels and motels do not have this yet.
Cons: See above.
Location: It was convenient to drive places, but not good for walking in that area-much noise, traffic and commercialism.
The staff was pleasant and tried to be accomodating, but were sometimes lackadaisical about it. Teenage boys were going wild in the parking lot, dashing through through parked cars and yelling. I asked them to stop and they did for a few minutes, and then resumed chasing and yelling. When I told the young woman at the desk, she said she had earlier told them to stop and smiled, acting like there was nothing else they could do. Then a man came out and said he would speak to them. The toilets were fine for small children, but way too low for adults. My sheets looked like they had been used and there was a long, black hair underneath a corner of the contour sheet. I wanted a bottle of water from the drinks machine and tried repeatedly to get one, but finally lost a dollar in the machine, for which I was reimbursed the next morning. A puddle of water present on the second floor seemed like it could have been a liability, but was there for quite a while. What was most bothersome to me, however, was the strong mildew and moldy smell in our room. They gave me a spray bottle of Febreeze that was effective for about an hour only. It'll be a long time, if ever, before I stay again in a Days Inn motel.

This hotel had all the amenities needed as well as being centrally located to plenty of restaurants, shops and movie theater. This location is also close to the highways.

Will not return

Posted Jun 27, 2015
Pros: The beds were comfortable and appeared to be clean. The location to the highway was convenient.
Cons: Smell of the room, updating, and so much more
Location: We chose this hotel because it was near the highway and because we were coming to visit UVA.
This Days Inn was a disappointment. There is construction going on next door. The construction fence is next to the sidewalk outside of the door to our room. The room smelled heavily of smoke. The beds were comfortable and appeared to be clean. The shower is very small, the towels are thin and the toiletries were only shampoo and a bar of soap. Because of the construction, parking is very limited. We arrived at 10pm and got the last space. The hotel was crowded and noisy.

Not bad for the price.

I thought this hotel completely served its purpose. We were looking for just somewhere cheap to stay in order to see a concert. Hotel was fine.
