Higher priced hotel not quite up to standard

Pros: Beauty, comfortable beds, lots of amenities
Cons: the bathroom sink would not hold water for shaving, and the tub drain was sluggish. Yapping dog next door was bothersome, needs soundproofing.
Location: The hotel is in Charlottesville and near University of Virginia and Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson
The hotel is beautiful, with many extras. Restaurant was good but as expected, high priced. I was disappointed in the lack of quietness

Very exquisite hotel.

Very clean, comfortable and very friendly. Amenities are many. Staff is very people oriented and friendly.

Overall a decent stay though hallway noises were quite loud and the pipes in the wall were also very noisy. The staff was excellent from start to finish

Enjoyed our stay at this great location

Pros: Updated, spacious room, great pool and fitness area, favorable location in quiet area. All that, and they even accept pets!
The Doubletree Hotel is close enough to UVA, but comfortably located near convenient restaurants and shops. The hotel sets back from the main road and the grounds are wooded with nicely kept landscaped areas. Quiet and restful. The indoor pool is in an atrium and gives you the feeling of being outside without the humidity and bugs! Our room was spacious and updated. I wanted to bring home the shower head and water pressure - what an awesome shower! Missed having a mini frig, though. Also, the mattress was rather lumpy. But other than that, our stay was great!

Nice hotel near several wineries

Pros: Great gym!
Cons: Free wi-fi for non-Hilton Honors guests for more than 24 hours!
Location: Downtown Charlotte has the Mall featuring interesting shops and great restaurants, and there are several nice wineries nearby.
The hotel was nicely appointed with a small but well equipped gym. Rooms were neat and clean, though I found the bed a bit soft for my liking and had a bit of trouble regulating the temperature inside the room. My only real gripe, though, is that while I paid for and stayed 2 nights, there was only 24 hours of free wi-fi... what's up with that?

Nice atmosphere, fairly quiet, pleasant staff

Pros: Just far enough off the highway to avoid traffic noise. Having the little coffee machine available was quite nice.
Cons: Keep the elevators going, improve the cable connection, buffer the doors so they don't slam loudly shut, and make the card key function easier.
Location: I didn't have much of a view since the river was on the other side. Being close to walmart is convenient. Close enough to the city, too.
Like that they supply single serve coffee machine and coffee packets, like that there is a hair dryer. Although it was fairly quiet, you can hear the heavy doors closing when guests leave and enter. The cable tv connection could be better as many channels became pixily at times. The room was clean and nice. I didn't have time to use the pool or visit the bar, but it's nice they were there. The other guests all seemed to be so relaxed and polite. Only 1 or the 2 elevators was working, so there was some wait time. Also, it usually took several tries for the card key to work. But overall, I found it to be a place I would go to again.

Great Experience

Great Experience. On the way to Charlottesville we called to see about an early check in. Young lady put me on hold for a few mins to check. She explained that they were sold out for the night / weekend but she was able to accommodate us on the early check in. When I mean early it was like 11AM and the normal check in is like 2 or 3PM.. We were very pleased with that. We have stayed at this hotel one other time and felt everything was Great. Thanks

Excellent Hotel

Pros: I loved the breakfast buffet.
Cons: Parking is scarce at certain times of the day. But there is overflow parking in another area.
My experience at this hotel was great. I was in Charlottesville for a week and the location of the hotel was in a great location for me. I like quiet and it was a very quiet and comfortable stay.

Dirty linens and dishes in hall when we checked in. Very noisy. So many cars, we had to park at a nearby retail store. Not great for the money.
