Standard Holiday Inn

Pros: The enormous bed and the lobby were nice.
Cons: We were woken up by housekeeping twice before 930. Not sure why, but they were anxious to clean those rooms and in the process woke us up.
Its a hotel. Nothing extravagant. The rooms were expansive and bed was gigantic. But I don't understand paying DC prices for a hotel thats outside the highway around charlottsville.

Difficult entry & egress, hotel is old and worn with musty smell in the room. Not a good value even at the discounted rate.

Old and run-down hotel. It was very noisy. The staff was professional, but the rooms had their best days 30 years ago.

Good location for us

I liked this hotel. It was clean and comfortable. The only downer was that the pool was closed due to an electrical malfunction. I picked this hotel specifically because it had a large indoor pool. Great way to relax after a day of sightseeing. When I went to the front desk to ask about how long the pool would be out of commission, they said "a day or two." When I said that I had picked the hotel for the pool, they said, "sorry" but didn't offer any concessions. Everything else was good though so I can't complain too much.

Decent hotel for a 3 star

Late reservations forced us to take a smoking room, but the staff steered us to a room that was clean - no odor! fitness center consists of a couple of treadmills, no weights.

Stayed here for UVA graduation (sorry, final exercises). Nice location, but wouldn't recommend walking. Campus is a few minutes drive, restaurants and shopping are just a couple minutes. Rooms were clean and comfortable and I enjoy a hotel that has windows/doors to the outside that actually open; even if it's only 4 inches. Staff greeted me warmly every time I walked in. The ice cold, fresh fruit infused water and cookies in the lobby are a nice touch. Also took advantage of the secluded outdoor patio right off the indoor pool. The hotel faces the street one side, wooded residential area on the other. Request the back side. Much more peaceful. (My family had rooms on both sides of the hotel, so I got to compare). Oh, and we had fridges in all the rooms which made happy hours much easier:)

This was not a very pleasant experience first the sliding glass door was left open and it was pouring down raining. I had two spiders in my room and the room had a funny smell it was on the 2nd floor which was in the basement. For the price I paid I expected better quality. I will never stay here again
