For the price, not the best buy

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: Near shopping, wineries and restaurants. Parking garage complimentary for guests.
Location: Some of the best Virginia wineries within 15 minutes of the hotel
For Mothers Day weekend I reserved a single Queen bedroom and upon arrival the front desk told us they only had a room with 2 double beds available. Note that it was just myself and my wife. Although the room was spacious, a double bed is tiny, especially if two people are to use it. The bathroom was way too small as well. In an attempt to appease us, the front desk offered us free Wifi for our stay, which I found hardly an apology given the rate of the room I reserved was already inflated due to the holiday and my reservation was for a Single Queen. The following morning we went downstairs to the hotel restaurant, The Pointe, where we were met by inattentive waiters (9am-breakfast) even though there were few customers. And something I've never seen before, the AC unit above was dropping some sort of black soot onto the tables below including ours. By that time, I had enough and asked for my check.. we found somewhere else to eat.

Pros: Location
Nice location. Pricy--and despite the cost they still charge for wi-fi unless you are a member.

Conveniently Located in Heart of Charlottesville

Posted Apr 13, 2015
My family and I stayed at the Omni Hotel during the Easter weekend in April 2015 for a family visit. The hotel is conveniently located near the outdoor mall in the heart of Charlottesvilles, which was great given the number of restaurants, bars, and shops closeby. The room was very clean and comfortable and the hotel staff checked-in with us to make sure our needs were being met. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying there again in the future.

Very conveniently located on the downtown mall

Pros: The glass elevators overlooking the atrium
Cons: The hotel bar could stay open a little later
Location: Make sure you have a nightcap at the Whiskey Jar around the corner -- excellent selection and really nice people.
Excellent location for seeing a show at the Jefferson Theater, the Paramount, The Southern or the Pavilion. Everything was in easy walking distance and the room was very comfortable.

Location, location, location

Pros: The Omni is a very pleasant place to stay, but the best thing going for it is location. It's worth paying extra to be right on the mall.
Location: There are several theaters near by. We saw a concert at the Jefferson that was excellent. There are many restaurants to choose from and shops.
We chose the Omni because it was within walking distance of the Jefferson Theater. We attended a concert there. It's worth paying extra to be right on the pedestrian mall. There are many things to do within walking distance: places to eat and drink; shops selling clothing, food, gifts, even a CVS pharmacy; and there is entertainment. It's a great place to stay in Charlottesville.

Great location, noisy for the price

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: You can't get any better with location.
Cons: Walls are thin. I could hear full conversations and a loud dog barking next door as well as doors slamming along the hall constantly.
Overall nice enough, but for the price, I would have expected less noise and better amenities and more updated facilities. Thin, thin walls - I could hear entire conversations and dogs barking and doors slamming. I was across from the hall ice machine, so anytime anyone got ice, well, we knew about it! Noise continued until around 11:30 but then it seemed quieter. (Started up again around 9am). The dresser in the room was stained and also had a drawer that kept opening on its own (?). For the price, I wouldn't stay again. If it were $100 cheaper, I might consider it.
