Testing at UVA Imaging Center

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: The convenience
Cons: Parking, working ice machines
Location: It was convenient to medical facilities, tourist attractions, malls, etc.
We were there for three days and two nights. We arrived early and they were kind enough to allow us to check in when we arrived..

OK stay near UVa campus at reasonable price.

Cons: Fridges in rooms. Ability to open windows.
Location: Lots of college-style eateries and bars nearby, as well as a CVS and 24-hour grocery store.
No fridge in rooms! Also, desk didn't follow through on my wake-up call request. So, plan on making your own arrangements.

Okay place to stay for 1 night

Posted May 24, 2014
Pros: I needed a place to stay for one night. Came in late after work, had a shower, went to bed. Quiet. Easy to register and get to my room.
Cons: It's an old building and most everything needs updated.
Location: I had a meeting the next morning outside of the hotel. I wasn't much interested nor took much notice in what was available in the area.
I know this hotel is typically a $60 a night place to stay. They hike up the prices during university events like graduations, college games, parent nights, etc. It's not worth a penny more, but I had to pay a total of $130 for 1 night! It's certainly not worth that but close to graduation all hotels are booked up solid! There's nothing terrible; there's nothing remarkable. It's a room. I got in late; got a shower, and went to bed. I don't know of any hotels that are in this area of Charlottesville that would be a decent place to stay and worth over $60 to stay in for any longer period of time! If you need a room for the night this will do fine.

Everything needs updating from the parking garage to the waiting area by registration (outside) , the lobby, the hallways, the elevators, and the rooms! It just needs an update!

One night stay

This hotel was very comfortable for a one night stay. The king size room had plenty of space and amenities. You don't get travel toiletries though! Great location if yout want to be close to restaurants and bars in Charlottesville.

Great location - friendly staff

Posted Jan 30, 2014
Pros: The location, the friendly staff, the fact that there are refrigerators and microwaves in some rooms, and that the hotel allows us to bring our dog.
Cons: See above re heat. I don't mean we were a little warm. I mean sweating in our underwear, sucked dry, couldn't sleep, looked for another hotel, etc.
Location: UVA campus right next door, as well as lots of good eateries within walking distance. A 25-min. drive gets you up in the mountains for hiking & views
This was a return visit for us, so that says something about our first stay. That was spring. Unfortunately, winter proved to be a different experience. The hotel's heating system made you THINK you could control your room individually, but that was not the case. There was no cooling available, and the windows do not open. So we roasted in spite of 20 degree temps outside. Nothing staff could do, as that is the way the system is.
