Cold and austere but spent might to visit monticello and wasn't in room long.many road workers staying there. Breakfast was uninspiring Drove to historic old town for dinner at open air mall... Lovely! Many wonderful dining options.

Close to UVA Campus & Monticello.

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: This hotel has plenty of free parking for overnight stays.
Location: Close to UVA, Downtown Mall, & Monticello. Also a short drive to Richmond.
I stayed here because a lot of the hotels close to the UVA Campus were booked due to the football game being played between UCLA & UVA. This place is easily within driving distance of the campus & the downtown mall. Staff was friendly, and it was nice to have a room with a fridge & microwave. Good experience.

Convenient

Posted Aug 8, 2014
We were going to visit Monticello, and this hotel was convenient for that purpose. It is definitely dated, but comfortable for the price. Bad points: no sitting area (table & chairs --- only a desk chair); no soap dishes on sink or in shower; pool was OK, but spa was quite dirty (totally cloudy water)....yuck. Good points -- convenient for what we wanted; breakfast was good for you carnivores, but we are vegan; did OK though with fruit, bagels, and juice; bed was fairly comfortable; staff was friendly. Overall average, but OK for the price which we got through Expedia.

Nice hotel clean and comfortable

Posted Aug 4, 2014
The room was very clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub areas were kept up nice (a little too much chlorine in there though). The beds could have been a bit more comfy but were ok. I wish they would have had an open king size available since doubles are kind of small for 2 adults. All in all it is much better than last time (remodeled very nice) since last time I was there.

Good night stay.

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: We picked the hotel for the pool and spa but it was closed for painting the second day of our stay.
Location: Downtown was within a mile or two. Monticello was maybe 5 miles from hotel.
Pleasant. Front desk people were nice and very helpful.

Good price and location

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Nice new remodeled room.
Cons: Everything looked new yet the actual toilet seat was old and peeling. Also the bathroom could use ventilation. And the elevator was not working.
Location: We were close to both Monticello and University of Virginia do it was very convenient.
Except for the elevator not working, and the toilet seat, the hotel was fine. It had a good bed and was very clean.

Very close to many historical attractions.

Nice location. Good breakfast . The hotel was very noisy, could easily hear the people in the room above. The bed was very uncomfortable and the wifi worked intermittently.

Nice hotel. But our room too noisy.

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Room was nice, front desk staff very helpful.
Cons: Quieter outside door on first floor.
Location: Good location for local attractions.
Room was on first floor at very end of hall which should have been a good thing. Some kind of construction/electrician workers there spending the night who kept going in and out of access door all night. Kept hearing door slam each time it was open was closed. Not a peaceful night sleep. Also, hotel was booked full, and they kept running out of food on breakfast bar and we had to wait. Not enough places to sit and eat. Had to go back to room and sit on bed to eat.
