“Great value for money.”

Very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel. Amazing value for money. Room was very clean and comfortable and location extremely convenient for visiting the University of Virginia. The staff was so polite and accomodating and went above and beyond. Asked to call for a cab to go to the train station, we were offered a free ride on the hotel van.

“A very pleasant stay”

I recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It was easy to find and close to UVA and restaurants/attractions. I have to say that the room was much nicer than I expected for the star rating. I found the decorations were quite nice and the room was clean and had a plasma television. The bathroom could have used a bit of an update, but in no way was it in bad condition. The front desk staff was friendly and quickly and politely checked me in. If I ever find myself in Charlottesville again, I would 100% stay at this hotel again.

“Pleasantly surprised”

The hotel looked a little old from the outside, so I was a little hesitant to book. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived! It had great character on the outside, the inside was completely renovated, and the staff was wonderful. The rooms were comfortable, and breakfast was great. The location was very centrally located, and I really enjoyed the stay. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to others!

“Wonderful surprise! Love this place and will DEFINITELY return.”

Surprisingly high quality for the price. Mid to high quality bedding, decor; exceptionall service, staff, convenience. We felt so welcome and lucky to have found this gem from the minute we pulled into the parking lot. Highly recommend.

“Surprisingly good, especially for the price.”

Great location, clean, friendly service, and very good breakfast. One potential caveat: I've had noise issues in the past, with thin walls, and I may not have had those issues during this visit because I noted that there was no one staying within two or three rooms of me.

“Great hotel, great location!”

Really enjoyed my stay here. The room was attractive and comfortable. I found the bed to be very comfortable. Nice, big flatscreen tv too. The location is terrific if you are visiting the UVA campus - very walkable to everything. It is also walkable to the downtown pedestrian mall area. I took my car and parked in the Water Street Garage for $2/hr., but I could have easily walked the distance if it had not been so hot outside. The service staff at the front desk were very friendly, free breakfast was pretty good, comparable to most other free continental hotel breakfasts - though they had scrambled eggs and waffles as well. Really like this hotel and will be back - it's a great value for the price, compared to others in the area.
