Quiet peaceful location.Posted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: We were married at this hotel 8 years ago and returned for our anniversary.
Cons: The restaurant menu was limited and the food was only average for the price charged.
Location: We went to watch the Salmon run.
Pleasant front desk staff. Room was clean and comfortable.

We thought the hotel was beautiful and the surroundings are spectacular. We enjoyed our stay but unfortunately we were disappointed with the restaurant. The service was adequate. Our evening meal was a huge disappointment as the elk ragout was extremely dry and the salmon was overcooked, after our waitress told us that they like to cook it on the rare side! The management did not charge us for the 3 meals, so that was some compensation. It's too bad because the ambience and location lends itself to an evening of fine dining. This was the first time we have ever complained about a meal and would never have done so except we thought the chef should know we were not satisfied. I am sure we will come and stay at the lodge again as we thought it was a wonderful place.

Content again as every time. - The location and quality of the hotel and the atmosphere there should compensate all adverse experiences - if tere were any.

Beautiful area and great staffPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: Food was excellent and staff were very warm and friendly.
Cons: The bed was a little firm and not super comfortable but the room was great.
Location: Location is a little isolated, but a short drive to many beautiful areas and scenery.
The area is somewhat secluded with not a ton of the things to do in the area. But the area itself and the location of the lodge is excellent. The lodge is beautiful, really clean and wonderfully decorated. A little pricey, but the room had walkout access to the beach and was in excellent condition overall. The golf course is amazing and the pro shop is located right in the hotel lobby where the staff, especially Candace, were wonderful and accomodating. The lounge server was very warm and friendly and the food was a little pricey but excellent. Would definitely go back and loved our visit.

Nice hotel...best for golfersPosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: The dinner and breakfast buffets were great, but we had to wait a long time to simply be seated. Obviously understaffed. A/C in the room is a big plus
Cons: The rooms need minor improvements like the carpet separating from the wall, and the poor caulking job in the bathroom.
Location: Play at the lake. Neat underground winter teepees for the kids.
Trying to find the hotel was painful. We called the hotel a few times and the man at the desk tried to help, but we were in Chase, and he thought that we were near the hotel. This place is on the west (or north) end of the Shuswap...not in Chase. Their map to the resort is terrible, and they refused to recognize that many people would have a very hard time finding the resort. In fact when we checked out, the lady at the front desk was quite rude about it, and that was out problem, not theirs. BTW - good luck using your GPS to find the hotel. That being said the hotel is quite nice and clean. The kids liked the pool and the fact that you're on the lake is a huge plus. Good value for the money spent. Understaffed in the dining room.
