Nice if you have small kids

Pros: It was very close to downtown. Had a nice restaurant on the grounds.
Cons: Have an adults only building and pool.
Location: River front. Many restaurants. Close to rock city and ruby falls.
The rooms were clean. If I were to stay there again I would stay in the train cars but we had four adults so we were staying at one of the buildings.

Pros: Indoor pool right down the hall from our room.
Had a wonderful stay! Riverbend Fest was going on as well as an antique car show. The car show folks stayed in the hotel so we got to see for free. Hotel staff was great as well.

Overrated

Hotel beds are the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. Hotel needs some updating. Pool was dirty. The grounds are neat just because of the train history, but other than that - not really impressed.

Horrible service
Posted Jan 10, 2013
First off, it seemed that we were inconviencing the staff when we asked for wine glasses. They said room service was closed and No one could bring the glasses to her room. The next day we specifically asked for room service and was never provided. When I got back to the hotel around six and called the manager to tell them no one cleaned our room, the lady at the front desk said the manager was unavailable and he would call me back. He never called back. To me that is three strikes and their out! I AM NEVER STAYING AT THE CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO AGAIN!

I really enjoy staying there. It was right by the bus station that takes u all over downtown free. The only thing I did miss was a small refrigerator. They do have vending machine on every floor. The pool is very nice. I will be back.

huge disappointment
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: nice pool
Cons: run down, dirty, overpriced
Location: Just out of downtown but the area seems to be regenerating and there is a free shuttle bus to downtown about every 5-10 mins
The hotel seems to get by on its name. We had an ordinary room (not a rail car) and it was very ordinary, considering the cost. We stayed two days and it had not been hovered before we went in and it was not hovered whilst we were there. There was a dirty towel from the previous occupant still hanging on the shower rail. We used the stairs rather than the lift and they were filthy. Generally run down and over priced

Good hotel

Pros: Good staff that is informed.
Cons: Prices.
Location: Great location in the middle of town.
Good hotel for family. Room was clean. All the staff I talked with were friendly and informative. I think that the rooms were overpriced for what you got (a room). Breakfast buffet was expensive ($15.00 per person). For the price, you get nothing but a room. Next time I will find a room that is less expensive that includes breakfast.

Not Just Another Hotel

Pros: The lily pond at night.
Cons: The distant from the lobby to the room.
I did not know what to expect, but this was beyond my expectations. The grounds were magnificently manicured. The staff were friendly, available and helpful. Night walks offered a sense of security and that was important because I was alone. The room, double, was spacious. Trains, shops, restaurants, acrcade, gardens, trolley and more. Wonderful place and right at the end of the trolley line.
