Hilltop Retreat

Posted Nov 2, 2014
We have continued our stay for a week at this location due to having car problems unexpectedly. The staff has been superb with providing us with any extras we require and assisting us on various places of interest we may visit. The hotel is beautiful, located on top of a hill over looking Cleveland. It needs some upgrading which the new owner is getting underway at the present time. The breakfast and lunch served here is outstanding!

Beautiful View of Mountains

Posted Oct 27, 2014
I found the hotel to be a hidden gem. The lobby is very beautiful. THe view of the surrounding mountains is beautiful. The service was outstanding. The breakfast was the absolute BEST i had on my vacation without exception!!! I was impressed. I didn't expect a 5 star hotel, so, I found the room comfortable and amenities satisfactory.

Yummy food, Crummy room!

The hotel is older. It has worn out bathrooms, and the beds are thin. The breakfast is delicious so the two equal each other out.

Past it's Prime

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, but served 15 minutes after advertised opening. A traveling ball group went without because they had to leave for the field.
Cons: Internet (working, or else not advertised). Better lit signage from the highway exit. Breakfast starts when advertised.
Do your homework (map/directions) before going. Located up on top of a hill (read curvey, hilly entrance) and poorly signed (large sign was busted out, with no lights). Internet was not working at all (claimed due to thunderstorm a couple of weeks previous). Room was old school Holiday Inn (doors open exterior to parking lot). Rooms were clean, but well used. Restaurant on site appears to be closed (lots to choose from off exit 2 miles north). Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable for a decent price.

Basic Accommodations, Beautiful View of Mountains

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: View, price, service. Accommodations were very basic, but adequate.
Cons: Carpet needed cleaning.
Location: It was a short drive to Chattanooga attractions as well as the scenic rail trip from Etowah.
The name does not lie! The hotel sits on top of a mountain and offers a beautiful panoramic view. The room served our needs at a decent price. The hotel seemed rather old, but had adequate furnishings. Towels and bedding were clean and changed daily. Staff was very friendly.

Despite Expedia's Error I Enjoyed My Stay

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: I liked the fact that this hotel was located on top of a small mountain, yet right at the I-75 exit, and convenient to everything anyone could want
Cons: Maid service was inconsistent. Twice I had to call to ask for soap. A microwave/fridge would have made the room perfect.
Location: Shopping, restaurants, T.L. Lowery Ministry Center, Voice of Evangelsim and Omega Center International, Lee University, close to Chattanooga.
I was attending a conference in Cleveland, TN, and stayed at Mountain View for a full week. I booked through Expedia, and asked multiple times, for two beds in my room. I called the hotel several days ahead of time, and they informed me there was only one bed in my room, and that they were totally booked (as was every other hotel in town), so I had to either take it or leave it. I took it, and was pleased with my overall stay. The room had been updated, the lobby and and restaurant were up to date. The daily breakfast buffet was probably the best FREE breakfast offered in town: fruit, cereal, juice, pastry, grits, eggs, biscuits n gravy, sausage and bacon and fried bologna, hash browns and more. The servers were friendly, and I was pleased with what turned out to be a real bargain. The motel had picnic tables and a swing overlooking the valley below, and the trees were beginning to sprout with their colors. It really felt like I was on a vacation. I will stay there again, and will refer to others.

Very Nice Hotel Close to activities

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Like everything.
Cons: An elevator.
Location: Convenient to water activities that were of interest.
A very clean, comfortable, quiet accommodations for a for a fair price. There is no elevator but steps are spaced nicely for a comfortable climb. It is an older hotel but that is part of the charm.
