Beautiful historic building

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: We also tried the in-house steakhouse, which was delicious!
Location: Right downtown, close to everything.
The lobby and mezzanine are beautifully maintained, and the room was pretty and comfortable.

Close to Downtown

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: Large room
Cons: Upgrade AC units
Location: Aquarium IMax and Big River
The Reed House is a nice place to stay. I enjoyed large room and having a Starbucks in the building. My only beef is that the AC in the room needs to be upgraded. It is a window unit and it runs all night. For a nice place like this, upgrading the the AC units is a must. Bathroom was not as clean as it should have been.

Nice hotel if a little tired.

Posted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: Near to downtown. Comfortable. Clean
Cons: Self parking option.
Location: 10 mins walk to Aquarium/river/downtown.
Visted for one night with my wife as a stop over on way to Atlanta. We had a twin queen room which was clean and tidy with good plumbing etc. One gripe is that there is no self park option. Vallet parking is the only real option at $15/night. The hotel can't be held responsible for the people in the next room who seemed to be from the hard of hearing society but SHOUTING does seem to be the standard volume setting for conversations in these parts.

Beautiful historic hotel.

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: The rooms were well appointed and the beds were comfortable.
Cons: Doors to the rooms slammed shut. This was only a problem at night while sleeping and other guest were coming in late.
Location: Within walking distance to the river and restaurants. The surrounding area felt safe.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel was beautiful.

Only one suitcase stand means one person puts their stuff on the floor and there was not a lot of floor space. Our friends said they requested another stand and it was not delivered to their room. The 10th floor standard queen room was small (somewhat crowded for the two of us) but clean and the views were very nice, in three different directions. Our friends had a much larger king bed room with two chairs instead of one and quite a substantial sitting area with a sofa. I hope that room cost a lot more or we were ripped off. I would gladly have paid more for some more living space. All of that being said, the hotel was lovely and I would stay there if in Chattanooga again.

Do NOT stay here, expensive and disappointing

Posted Apr 19, 2015
Pros: Drive in enterence and friendly greeter..
Cons: Have a way to cancel a reservation when it not what was advertised.
My wife and I booked a Friday night after looking online at the pictures promoting the hotel. This place is a dump..... it's old and the hallways show dirt and wear in the center .... chipped paint on the trip and a musky OLD smell in the hallways and rooms... they try to cover it up with deodorizer. We saw the pictures of a beautiful 4Poster Bed and a spacious room, which is what we thought we would get. When we saw the room, we were very disappointed to see old and tired decor , drapes were old and spread on the bed showed years of wear..... This is not a place we will ever recommend to our friends and we will never go back! It's old , expensive for no reason and I suggest : Find a nice hotel, NOT this one.

Please accept our apologies for not having a room for you last Friday. This is certainly not the Read house hotel experience we aim to provide to our guests and I am truly sorry this happened to you. I have notified our management team so that we may look further into these issues. Our goal is to provide our guests with a memorable and enjoyable experience from start to finish and we are truly sorry that we did not carry out this promise. We have contacted Expedia and a full refund should have been posted to your account. Again, we are truly sorry about this incident. We appreciate your business and the feedback you provided. We hope to have another opportunity to welcome you back again soon. Warm Regards,

Great Location, Nice Hotel.

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Location. Nice Lobby. Hotel Staff.
Cons: Elevator was worn, loud and carpet was dirty for two days. Hallway carpets were worn and looked dirty. Increase the bathroom sink space.
Great location, Starbucks and Restaurant/Bar downstairs, Easy Check-in, Shower drain was slow, but they fixed it immediately. Hallways and elevators seemed a bit worn and/or dirty. Queen bedroom was cramped, but the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean.

Historic hotel with a ton of charm

Posted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: Clean hotel, friendly staff. I mentioned in passing that we were going to eat at Tupelo Honey Cafe, and the clerk gave us vouchers for free appetizer
Location: In the heart of downtown. Close to walk to...art district, warehouse row, aquarium, Walnut St. Bridge. Drive distance to Ruby Falls, Lookout Mtn.
This is just a beautiful hotel with so much character, very charming. Rooms are quaint and clean with updated baths. Starbuck's in lobby is a nice feature. Lobby is gorgeous. Upscale hotel in the heart of downtown for a fabulous price. Valet is convenient. This is our "go-to" hotel when visiting my son in college.
