Nice downtown hotel

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: Large rooms, beautiful lobby, nice restaurant
Cons: More bath towels, less noise in rooms
Location: Plenty to do and see within a 10-minute walk!
We visit Chattanooga often. For some reason, most of the downtown hotels were sold out, so we chose The Mead House. This is a beautiful older hotel. Our Deluxe suite was huge, but had a few issues. One of the shades would not pull closed, so the room was lighter in the morning than we would have preferred. The room was also a bit noisy, we could hear the guests in the adjoining rooms. Also, we were only supplied with two bath towels. On the plus side, the staff was excellent, there is a huge Starbucks on the hotel property, and the hotel has a very nice restaurant and bar. Not a horrible experience, but not sure we'd stay there again.

Nice room, bathrooms had leaks

Great experience in every way... except that bathroom had a leak from ceiling and was cluttered with too much shelving.

Everything was nice...the Valet was very nice and helpful. The check-in was a little slow since there was only one person working. And there was a line behind me.

Front desk

Posted Oct 18, 2014
First off I stay here often and that may change now. Love this place but last two times the front desk has been a nightmare. First she couldnt find my reaervation and asked me to go sit in the lobby until she could figure out things. Finally after 30 min I get my junior suite which is what I always reserve. Get to room & ceiling is a steady drip. Call front & it takes them 45 min to come move me. My visit before this same two at front desk I remind you have ten people trying to check in at same time. Im very patient but they are so slow and always have to ask each other how to do things. Please just train up you're staff so its a pleasurable experience.

Bathroom very small, shower curtain leaked water all over the floor. The only exposed electric outlet didn't work. TV had to be turned off and on to get a picture, only the sound worked with the blank screen. Swimming pool and exercise facilities very nice. Never had to use our car for downtown activities due to very convenient location of the free shuttle.

Please accept our apologies for your room. This is certainly not the Sheraton Chattanooga experience we aim to provide to our guests and I am truly sorry this happened to you. I have notified our management team so that we may look further into these issues. Our goal is to provide our guests with a memorable and enjoyable experience from start to finish and we are truly sorry that we did not carry out this promise. Warm Regards
