The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only problem is that on their website they say there is a restaurant with evening dining on site, which was a factor in choosing this hotel. We were surprised to find out when we arrived that they only serve breakfast. I would say this is more like a B&B than a hotel or lodge.

Not the best start to a holiday!
Disappointed, the room was not one advertised on the website. We were told we were in the courtyard and think it was a converted garage. Very small, ceiling. Very low- as I took jumper off my bent arms touched the ceiling! Dark and dangerous accessing the room in the dark.On a positive note it was very clean and nice bedding. A big issue in the morning, as we went to leave at 4.45am for the airport, was we had been jammed in the car park.Inconsiderate parking by a large Volvo. After an extremely difficult manoeuvre we got out arriving later than planned.

Close to airport
Great little hotel within a few minutes drive of the airport. We had an early flight so didn’t get chance for breakfast. We’d stay again for the convenience alone.

Good value and functional
In a suburb about £14 taxi fare from Manchester airport. Nearest pub 15 minute walk - shops 25 minutes. Steep stairs to 2nd floor room. Head of bed under the eaves - need to remain conscious of very low headroom getting into and out of bed - the beams should have a warning on them. Otherwise functional and good value given its proximity to airport.

Great for early flight from Manchester Airport.
Very friendly lady checked us in, quickly without issues. We booked a courtyard room. Limited parking at the side of the hotel giving direct access into the courtyard, but its a gravel area on a slight hill, neighbours park in the area. Main car parking at the other side of the hotel. Room was very clean, with a small en suite bathroom. No fridge, but tea and coffee facilities. Excellent for an overnight stay when flying out of Manchester Airport early in the morning. 6 minute drive from the Car rental village, making returning the car easy. Great nights sleep, bed comfortable would highly recommend and will use again when in the area.

Lovely small hotel-guesthouse. What was important for us - comfortable bed with nice linen! Good location for the airport, 5 mins drive. Friendly and accommodating staff. Can definitely recommend.

The location was a bit out of the way . I assume it was mostly for people catching a flight . No bar or restaurant as stated . Room only . If you like a drink and a meal before your holidays you will be disappointed. Clean though more like a B&Bthan a hotel .

We arrived a bit early and our room was ready! Lovely welcome and even sorted our taxi out for later on in the afternoon! The stay was great, room was clean, beds comfy, facilities spot on couldnt complain. Breakfast was great, although in the conservatory it was very hot but great food neither the less.

It was run by a very nice couple, Leda and her husband, was well appointed and served a very good breakfast. Convenient for Manchester Airport (£11 taxi ride). Only disadvantage was having a room on the road side which was fairly noisy but that was because we had all the windows open due to the high temperature. Would stay there again willingly.

Nearing the end of a very hard week taking due diligence to ensure that I could remit my fathers remains back to Canada, I opted to head towards the Manchester airport a day early. I had read that the trains were to strike heavily on the following day and did not want any part of missing my flight. I spent 9 hours fighting the trains with their random strikes, and arrived at a chain hotel that I had reserved a room at as it was walking distance to the airport come the morning. A half hour of arguing with the counter staff at the hotel, over my room that they had given away and had no replacement for, I went on expedia, and found Pymgate Lodge Hotel. I booked and paid for a room immediately, and had to hail an uber to get there. once I arrived, staff was already at the door waiting and asking if they could help with my luggage. Check in was prompt and very efficient. I had a choice of rooms I could have taken, however I took the first room shown as I was very tired. The following morning, I opted to pay a little extra, and had breakfast before check out. the Food was delicious, and all of it seemed as though it was locally sourced. If I am ever to return that way, I will be returning to be a customer again. The lodge holds its own history and heritage well, and has many modern features that make the stay more comfortable. It was a time I spent to be close to my partner who was having surgery at a nearby hospital. I don’t drive so there was a little extra expense in obtaining fresh food, as the Pymgate Lodge does not do evening meals; although their breakfasts are as plentiful as you could possibly want at that time of day! It was a very comfortable environment to spend 5 days in and, should I ever need to spend time near that hospital or Manchester Airport again, I’d be happy to stay at The Pymgate Lodge.
