repairing rlevators

Had to walk down 14 flights two days in a row while elevator repairs took place. One elevator working. Took 30 minutes to get it going up at night. Not so good. No advance notice when booking.

Convenient location

We booked while Expedia had a sale promo going on so for the price it was an excellent deal. Hotel is in the center of everywhere we wanted to go and close to subway stations. Only complain I have is that the paint on the bathroom ceiling was falling off and some surfaces were a bit dusty. Other than that, not a bad choice for NYC.

Dirty and small room. A lot of dust and dirt in the room and in the hallways.

Clean, friendly and helpful staff, convenient

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: I cannot think of a thing
Location: Close to Madison Square Garden, the Empire State Building, and I had a great beer and burger at the Black Iron around the corner
I had a great stay at the Doubltree. Clean room, friendly and helpful staff, conveniently located near several subway stops and attractions. I would recommend this hotel, and the next time I am in NYC I will stay here again.

Wonderfull stay!!

I arrived friday morning around 8am. My hotel was ready and Charlie who I spoke with told me that my room would be able to check in before 3 o clock. Upon arriving Willie checked us in and even suggested some rooftop lounges to see since it was our first time in NY. My only issue was parking. Which wasnt the hotels fault by any means but if you plan on coming to NY with a car be prepared to pay everytime you leave and come back 25 dollars that is self parking ONLY. Vallet is 45 each time! So my suggestion is to not get a car and take a cab or a subway . Anyways the hotel was nice, the view wasnt anything intresting but for the amount you pay its still nice. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comforable. The location isnt bad either! Walking distance to alot of things like Times Square.

We arrived from out of town, went to check in and while the gentleman at the front desk dillydallyed, I thought I heard him whisper to the intern working with him "this is the problem I told you about today." and then disappeared into a back office. The intern then stepped up, gave us chocolate chip cookies and began to tell us about his day. I became suspicous and asked if there was a problem. He then told us that the hotel had just switched servers and the system overbooked and they had no way to access our information to contact us. So I asked are you telling me that you do not have a room for us, to which he replied no. They did get us room somewhere else and paid our cab fare. The unacceptable part was they were not upfront about it and never mentioned about crediting my credit card which was already charged for the room. We had to get ready to attend a function and this took away some of that much needed time. I find it hard to believe that prior to switching servers they did not have a back up for their guests information. I spoke with someone who works in that field and agreed that this did not sound correct.

Nice hotel in a good location .

We were in NYC for my daughter to attend a class in the Chelsea area. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. They allowed us to check in a little early, help us with directions and gave us wonderful cookies at check in. The rooms were a little small but over all very nice and very clean. The beds are very comfortable. I would stay there again and recommend to anyone.

Gutes Hotel mit kleinen Komfortmängeln

Posted Mar 10, 2015

The location allows for great access to public transportation and hot tourist spots. The staff was amazing, though. Everyone was genuinely friendly and welcoming. They went beyond and above to make our stay a good experience. Oh and cool view of the Empire State building! :-) Thanks!
