"Artistic, elegant ambiance. "
You can tell that a truly masterful artist was commissioned to design the perfectly executed art deco presentation that is this hotel. The service was outstanding as were the toiletries, condition of fixtures and cleanliness. This was exactly what I was looking for in a hotel 'experience'. Much more than simply a 'stay' our place to crash at the end of your city day: or time (wife and I) in the Jade was an important part of our NYC excursion.

"Nice if you know what to expect!"
The location is perfectly situated for the Highline, Whitney , and the Village. All are within a short walking distance and the location is in a nice neiborhood with lots of places to eat. The hotel is only for sleeping in though as I had a single and it's really small with a bathroom down the hall. The room has a TV and is air conditioned. Oh and they give you a towel, robe and slippers to wear. That's it. There's a cafe and a bar downstairs. I didn't visit either of them but Sat night there were about 200 twenty something's waiting to get in the bar. I didn't hear a peep from my 4th floor room. For the price in the area , I would reccomend for a night if you don't mind the group bathroom.

"Very good location. Close to Times Square."
For the most part, our experience was very positive one. The hotel is located within walking distance of Times Square and the Empire State Building. Also the Water Taxi is not a great distance away. The only negative thing about the stay was when we were leaving for the airport, (on a Saturday) we called the driver who had originally brought us to the hotel to pick us up. As we were loading up our belongings, the concierge on duty approached my wife and I and asked us how much we were being charged by the driver for the trip to the airport. When we didn't respond, he got into a shouting match with the driver with the concierge claiming the driver wasn't a licensed taxi which resulted in them pushing each other. MOST UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!! and not in good taste. He has no right to interfere with guests transportation choices. The driver who brought us from the airport had given us his phone number to call him when we wished to return for our flight. Except for the fact that we were short on time, we would have reported him to the hotel manager.

"Good hotel for the price"
The Flatiron hotel was nice. It's not as close to Times Square as I expected from the map. The beds were comfy and we had a good size room. The main bad thing was the hotel staff's recommendations for food near by. We didn't end up using any of their recommendations. The first night they recommended 2 different places for dinner. One had a 90 minute wait and the other was crazy expensive. We ended up at the Belgian beer hall which was great! The next morning they recommended sarabeths for breakfast but no one told us the location they recommended was in the Lord & Taylor store and didn't open till 11:30. The next morning they recommended Johny's luncheonette after we told them we wanted to sit with food like eggs, omelettes, pancakes, bagels, etc. this place had all of that before t there was no place to sit. Only a small bar area like at a diner. We ended up down the street at the Corner cafe which was excellent!!! Great food and very reasonably priced. Their bagels were everything I hoped for out of a NY bagel.

"Interesting hotel"
Interesting hotel with screened front of building, unusual first floor with warren of rooms with walls blocking everything, insertion of weird metal dongle required in elevator to get to floors and in room to get electricity, meaning you can't charge your phone unless you are in the room. Felt tag for room key worn and no longer aesthetically pleasing. Some veneer worn off platform for bed. Strange placement of lights and controls, basically under lit though there are a lot of lights. Bed very very comfortable. Lovely shower once I figured out how to turn on. Bathroom lighting very dim, may have left hotel looking like a kabuki actor as a result. Sink is tiny and spout comes out to middle of bowl so impossible to wash face there.

West Chelsea with its hundreds of galleries and studios is the center of New York’s visual arts community and the neighborhood is also home to a thriving gay community. For its string of nightclubs, West 27th Street is known as Club Row. Historic sites have found new purpose like Chelsea Piers, which was converted to a sports complex, and High Line, an elevated rail line transformed into a park.
