“large hotel in a small town”

Chemainus is a small place on Vancouver Island famous for its large building murals. the murals are ok, the town is unremarkable but it was a convenient stop on our 2 day tour of the island. there is lots to see on Vancouver Island and 2 days was not sufficient. Chemainus is quiet with a nice bay about 15 minutes work from the hotel. Avoid Duncan which is the nearest large town unless you want franchise fast-food. would recommend the harbourside cafe for dinner, simple home cooked food. the hotel is surprisingly large for such a small town. it has a good pool, complimentary buffet breakfast and large, modern clean bedrooms and is very quiet.

“Nice Hotel in Cute Town”

The hotel itself is new and looks great, and the staff are very courteous. The room layout is odd (at least for a queen bed unit) but functional, and the breakfast gets a little backed up, but overall it's a perfectly decent place to stay. The town is quite nice, and is not too far away, though the closest buildings are a bit run down.
