Clean room, very good price, in a good location.

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Some of the staff came across as unfriendly, and the food for breakfast was what you would expect for the price, overall it was a very good hotel in a very convenient location. The room was Very clean, and the neighborhood around the hotel is convenient for eating, sightseeing, And just walking. This was true especially in the evening.

Nice location but tricky communication!

Posted Jul 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
Liked the place, the room, the location, bed was a bit hard but standard for China it seems. Breakfast very good for 3 USD...only downside was lack of English spoken, but again pretty standard for China. Arrival via the Wenshu Monastery metro stop quite easy.

Pre-Planning Required

Good location with easy access to lots of local quality restaurants and street fare. The only downside was the lack of tourist information (in English anyhow) both at the hotel and in ChengDu generally (Tourist Center was some miles away).

Good hotel

Posted Jan 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was good and well presented. Not all of the staff spoke english but they were quite helpful letting us check out 2 hours late. Room was large and clean although there was a strange smell in the lobby at one point but I guess that's china! Location is okay about a 7 minute walk from wenshu monastery station. The monastery itself is very close and the surrounding neighbourhood is bustling with many litre shops and restaurants. Didn't try the restaurant at the hotel but can highly recommend "gongs" just down the road past the intersection opposite the vegan restaurant. Very good food at great price.

Backpacking in China

Posted Sep 28, 2013
Location: Chengdu is famous for the Panda Breeding, its not cheap but its worth a visit
This was my 4th JJInn, and Id come to expect basic servise, but this was the lowest I'd found, and I'd expected more as Chengdu is a vibrant city The room and AC worked fine, the breakfast room on the ground floor was next to reception and was noisy, it had the poorest selection of food for western tastes thankfully a chain of western fast food is next door serving pancakes for breakfast :-) The staff had the poorest english of the lot, there was only 1 person who was confident to help me, the others just stared and had no English.

Very good budget hotel

Posted Jul 15, 2012
The beds at this Jinjiang Inn are softer than most budget hotels in China, very comfortable, room had airconditioning and fast internet. Some of the front desk staff speak English and are very helpful but they do not assist with tours or travel as mentioned on the web site. It is a good location, close to Wenshu temple and walking distance to the underground.

Jinjiang Inn Wenshufang - nice location

Posted May 28, 2012
Pros: Breakfast was a great bargain at only 18 yuan for all you can eat breakfast. One morning there were even a couple of monks from the nearby temple.
Cons: No safe in the room.
Location: Great location close to a subway station and the Wenshu temple and old street.
The hotel was a bit more spartan looking than I expected but the basics were there and that was it was all we needed. The staff was flexible about letting us check out a half an hour past the official time.
