This hotel had the best breakfast buffet of all the places we stayed in South India! Very large selection with made to order foods! The dining area is beautiful. They also have peanut snacks at the front that are complimentary for guests. The location was great, and the staff was helpful. They even packed us breakfast to-go on our last day, as we had to leave before the breakfast start time.

The staff at the reception are unaware and share misleading information. For example we were told the buffet is open when it was actually closed and then they told us to go upstairs and order room service. Completely wasting our time. The reception staff also have a hard time speaking/ understanding English and Tamil. So when they answer the phone (they take so long to answer), they don’t understand what we are saying. The reception phone line should not take that long, all other hotels answer so much faster. All other staff have been great, I think the reception team was terrible and have definitely provided me with misleading information numerous times.

Our group was fairly comfortable. The staff worked hard.The rooms were pretty much worn. Most of the light switches in my room were damaged. The dining is geared towards non vegetarians. The general aesthetic was a bit too gaudy. Finally we lost a pair of pants in the laundry. We probably would not pick GRT again in the future.

We have been a Customer of GRT Hotel for 10 years now, my chennai trips always starts with this hotel booking.Right from our landing, airport pickup and ease of check-in even at ood hours, its always a breeze. We really love the welcoming atmosphere given by your wonderful reception staffs, house-keeping and dining crew. Food, service, homely feel and safety are the key factors for us to stay in your hotel. To mention specifically, Mrs. Varalakshmi (House keeping manager) is excellent, always makes us welcomed with our personable chat and enquiring on our stay and making sure its comfortable. She always goes above and beyond on her work and managing her staffs. On the housekeeping, we were very impressed with Nithya on her customer friendly approach, professionalism and sincerity on her work.

The hotel is very antique from the inside. Its beautiful. The rooms are spacious and nice. Its a very bussy hotel with a lot off guests. The location is good. You can get a taxi or riksha in front off the hotel for a reasonable price.

Some breakfast items are repeated daily. Auto riders that are stationed outside the hotel waiting for hotel guests to take their transport are not safe at all.They charge exorbitant prices and they are abusive and arrogant to hotel guests.I had experienced this on the recent visit when i do not take their transport rides. This is to safeguard the hotel guest coming out of the hotel to look for other transport . I feel the hotel management can remove them infront of the hotel. Bodhi Spa service in the hotel was really good. The travel desk at the hotel should improve their service.

Hotel location is good. I had a bad experience with auto riders who park for hours outside of the hotel and waiting to cheat the hotel guest of exorbitant transport fares to any nearby places, The auto riders stationed outside of the hotel passed sarcastic and unreasonable comments such as ...." females staying in star hotels but are cheapskate beggars". This matter was brought to the manager over breakfast on 12 August. We as tourists visiting chennai are not here to be conned and cheated by the auto riders. i was staying in room 507 from 09 Aug to 13 Aug.the shower room the water leaks out of the lower bottom of the shower screen and the floor gets very very wet even a floor mat is placed.On the 12 August after a shower i almost slipped and fall in the bathroom where my one elbow hit the door and the other elbow hit the shower screen glass.thank god i never fall flat on the floor and hurt myself. i had brought forward to the housekeeping staff bicky and told him about this matter and he immediately contacted the maintenance staff to check . Hotel is clean and hygienic, service is good. certain food items are repeated daily at the breakfast buffet. Hope to see a better improvement in the next visit to chennai.

I travelled to Chennai with my wife and spent an amazing 3 days, thanks to this splendid hotel. It was well kept opulence, with friendly, efficient staff and clean amenities. Attention to detail - from branded toiletries, extra towels, spacious, bright airy rooms, generous designer breakfast spread, this establishment offers as lot. The bonus was the location. Shop, shop, shop!

Every time we visited Chennai , our preferred stay was GRT GRAND. This time stay at Grand GRT was disappointing. From the time we landed(at 2pm), we were informed we need to wait 30minutes if we need room next to each other same floor. Inside the room bathroom clogged! Break fast service has gone worst, tables not clean , no spoon, water we need to look around and serve our self. Last worst thing happened in billing, they added 6.5k extra on food which we hadn’t consumed. Cross check your billing. Finally they corrected, imagine if we hadn’t checked it. Overall service has become worst.

Wonderful Stay. Amazing experience.
Whole experience was wonderful. No complaints. Feedback on 02 areas only: 1) Designated smoking area inside the hotel - a bit troublesome to keep walking out of the hotel to smoke 2) more lugggage trolley please. We had to wait for some time for the trolley to arrive at our room. These are no issues but would be better if these are looked into. Thank you.
