“Oasis in a busy town”

The hotel was as expected ..an oasis of calm in a busy town. It was modern and comfortable. The staff was very kind, helpful and attentive. Our particular Thanks to the Duty Manager, a lady who is a mine of information. Highly recommended.

“An extremely nice & friendly hotel”

The Raintree is only 30mins from the airport and is very central to others sight seeing ideas, some beautiful and interesting temples close by .The shopping around the area is also great and we found some nice little hidden oasis 's which were cool and green and great food and retreated from the bustle of the city for a couple of hours.

“Would love to return”

I stayed at the Raintree Hotel for four days on a return visit to Chennai. I found the staff friendly, helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. The food and service in the restaurants was always excellent. I was able to arrange a taxi in order to find my way round the city and I found this service also excellent and enjoyable. In fact I can't praise the hotel enough and would gladly return. If you go it is well worth eating on the terrace where there is a wonderful view over the city.

“Chennai's best hotel”

This was a great and modern hotel with a great rate and friendly service. In a good area in Chennai and on the airport side of the city. Staff where very helpful when I got sick. Didn't even charge me for medication. Would recomend it to everybody. Also eco-friendly

“Comfortable, light & friendly”

My wife and I, and our adult daughter, had a pleasant 3-night stay at the Rain Tree in February. Very comfortable & clean rooms, and friendly and efficient staff. We detected no trace of the 'damp' smell that some travellers have reported. The roof restaurant has a great view and the food is OK: the Chinese restaurant downstairs, however, is really excellent. There is an open kitchen and a real Chinese chef - we gave him a round of applause as we left! If we were pushed to make a criticism it would be about the feeble dribble of water that comes out of the sink tap in the bathrooms - the shower's fine, though. We think this is probably a 'green' feature...

“Nice property, as expected, good value”

The Raintree St. Mary's was a nice hotel, as expected. The Expedia description was accurate. Clean and a good value. Very pretty rooftop bar/dining facility.

“a little work to do on the hotel room, nice overall”

The staff could not have been kinder. My only complaint was that the room had a moldy smell. Other Than that the hotel was very nice. The food was good and the service was excellent.

“The Raintree St. Mary's - my hotel of choice in Chennai”

I have been a frequent guest at the Raintree St. Mary's since 2007, averaging over 75 nights every year. I continue to return due to the incredible service, and the cleanliness and comfort they provide. This is a great business hotel. The staff is always willing to help, and are good at what they do. If they would marginally improve their food quality, expand their gym, and reopen the Lobby bar, I will probably seriously consider moving in!

“Good Chennai Choice”

Good alternative to the Sheraton across the street, well-equipped rooms. Rooftop bar/restaurant is wonderful until it rains. Exercise facilities minimal. Inside restaurants tend to be noisy. Breakfast buffet pretty good. Terrible light-jazz music plays in all public areas, most people don't notice.

“Poor Service”

Nice building, but the service was very poor and the staff serve you out of fear rather than pleasure. It seemed as though everything was just too difficult. All in all a 3 star hotel and 5 star prices.
