An oasisPosted Mar 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Beautiful hotel but looking a bit frayed around the edges. Friendly & helpful staff, excellent reataurant & pool area, very quiet- a welcome relief from the mayhem outside (this is India). For the money we paid, I would have liked a bathtub.

Not GreatPosted Mar 5, 2013
Cons: No pool use and management seemed to think it was not such a huge problem!
Location: Backs onto a river and shopping centre, nosy and lots of Mosquitos.
We booked the hotel for the swimming pool, when we arrived this was not working, we had to be transported to their sister hotel to use a pool, though close by, it was very stressful. Our booking stated we had breakfast included, they tried to charge us, I contacted Expedia but they did not answer in time to confirm the arrangements through the booking agent. We had to have another discussion with the management. We had already spent 7 weeks travelling around India and this was the first hotel where Wi Fi was not free, it seems the more you pay the more you are expected to pay. Also in the evenings their are hundreds of Mosquitos as there is a river running at the back of the pool, so at nighttime we could not sit outside as you were eaten alive. Plus a shopping centre also backs onto the hotel and in the evening their generator is so nosy ear plugs were needed. My advice if you want 5 star in Chennai, go somewhere else.

Chennai's oasisPosted Jan 30, 2013
Pros: Travelling as a single female, they very kindly supplied a room for me to rest in the early hours post check out while waiting for my taxi
Cons: The pool could have been a bit cleaner
Location: Chennai is pretty gritty, crossing the roads is not for the faint hearted
Impeccable service, always willing to do their upmost to help, delicious food and a very talented spa masseuse! Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful oasis in a sprawling city - Chennai is not a walking city, but nice rooms and refreshing pool may keep you in. Buffet breakfast is superb. The only problem is the abundance of mosquitoes at the entrance area. Some get into the public areas of the hotel despite the staff's efforts. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but this is India where malaria/dengue are a concern. Travel desk charges 5x the going rate to hire a car/driver so you're better off doing that on your own. Otherwise, it's a nice place.

A Nice Hotel for any tourist to stay at this placePosted Dec 4, 2012
I was quite impressed with the entire platform of the hotel. Did not find any major problem . The entire team was very co-operative and they were always available for any help. Location of the hotel is also quite good.

The hotel is quite centrally located or atleast to my convenience. The staff were cordial. The breakfast was good and suitably priced. I'm just surprised that there are 3 Taj hotels situated quite closely to one another in chennai. Nonetheless I was quite satisfied with my stay.
