very satisfied stay. relaxed atmosphere which we were hoping for having 3 young kids with us. great location beside the chateau de chenonceaux. secure hotel parking. restaurant or bar snacks and on site bar. good value for money. we chose this hotel as a stopover on the journey between calais and the dordogne and were very happy with it.

It's location and price are why we stayed. If you want to go to Chenenoceau and stay for cheep, book it. If you are looking for somewhere nice, skip it.

Walking distance from Chenonceaux CastlePosted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: Warm welcome.
Cons: Well, the room looks like Mr Bean's bedroom, my son remembered, but I wouldn't say it needs improvement, though it looks old stylish.
Location: well located close to the River Cher and Chenonceaux Castle. Amboise is just 13 km away. A few restaurants available in town.
Simple country side hotel with very pleasant landlady. The facilities are not luxurious, but clean and functional. Stayed with my wife and two teenagers boy and took the family room which allowed us some privacy. The bathroom is spacious and looks renovated. One important feature for me is that they have a single handle faucet for the shower that allows controlling the water flow as well as temperature which is something the americans don't have. This is important to mention because american faucets are a source of excessive water waste since you can't choose less water or shut the water off and open it back again at the same temperature. Back to the hotel, we paid a supplement for breakfast, E7.50 each person, with baguette, croissant, orange juice, butter, jam and plenty of café au lait.

Close to a must see site.Posted Apr 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is situated in a lovely village close to The Château de Chenonceau. It had its own restaurant and bar. The food was good and the staff were friendly. It has an annexe at the rear of the building with several bedrooms where we stayed. The main building had character but the annexe, although clean, was dated and required modernisation. In addition, it was a long way from the car park and away from the entrance to the main building. Consequently, we had to walk along the road with our suitcases to our room.

OUR PLEASANT STAY AT THE HOSTEL du ROYPosted May 6, 2012
This hotel is in a great location. It has a pretty good restaurant. The staff were very helpful, and kind. We were going to stay for 3 nights and ended staying 5. When we travel, we prefer to stay in quiet little villages over a noisy, crowed city. This is why we chose the hotel. It is a great location to visit all the chateaux.

Very nice hotel conveniently located a two minutes walk from the castle. We were able to leave the car in the parking while we visited. Very friendly staff.
