Excellent welcome for families. Toys and books available which is incredibly helpful. Book the restaurant if you want to eat there. Had no availability until 9pm which is obviously too late for young children. There are limited options nearby.

We booked due to previously good experiences with the Novotel brand. The hotel is excellent, there is a good pool, parking and loads of charging points for electric vehicles. The rooms are good. Our only problem was the service from the restaurant staff which slightly spoilt our stay. Having booked for 2 adults and 2 children on a half board basis in the restaurant we found out this didn't include the children at this point. Not a huge problem on its own but a surprise. There was a buffet starter option and 3 main courses on offer which were great, however my daughter aged 13 was disappointed she had to have this and wasn't allowed to order from the children menu which my 11 year old son was pleased to order from. She is 13 so arguably this is understandable but it was disappointing for her to have to wait (with the adults) over an hour for her main course to arrive whilst the children course arrived for the 11 year old almost immediately. In isolation none of these things would have been a big factor if it not for the fact we were ignored by the significant number of staff in the restaurant for long periods of time who seemed to find other things to occupy themselves with. Another couple we spoke to who joined later were having smiler issues with the service. There seemed no-one appropriate to speak to in the evening so we spoke to the reception staff on check out, the lady merely smiled at us and again offered no apology.

Good location
Very convenient for AutoRoute 71, en route back from Spain. Not beautiful, but looks newly refurbished inside. Bar and restaurant on site. Rooms standard but fine for overnight stay. Does what it says on the tin!

Next to refugee camp, very hostile.
Refugee house next door fighting at night and not good for children to see. Staff friendly, rooms semi refurbished, but very hot and air con useless. Sheets a bit like sand paper too. Breakfast good and pool warm but hostile outside and fence has been covered in plastic to stop the view into this camp. Unfortunately from the top floor you can se straight in.

Bonjour, Je vous remercie pour votre commentaire. En effet nous sommes voisin d'un foyer d’accueil pour réfugiés. Nous entretenons d'excellentes relations avec eux depuis 3 ans qu'ils sont installés et nous n'avons à déplorer absolument aucun incident de quelque sorte que ce soit et nous en sommes très heureux. Au sujet de la climatisation, notre installation pourtant performante n'est malheureusement pas suffisante pour faire face aux pics de chaleur épisodiques que nous connaissons depuis quelques années, à plus forte raison lorsque l'hôtel est complet et la pompe à chaleur très sollicitée. Néanmoins nous arrivons malgré tout à obtenir lors de ces canicules, une température dans tout l'établissement d'environ 23° ce qui reste tout à fait acceptable. Votre avis est très important pour nous et nous encourage à nous améliorer toujours plus car votre satisfaction est notre priorité. A bientôt.

Upmarket yet reasonably priced pit stop
Lovely modern hotel, much classier than the two budget options on the same zone. Next to the motorway so very convenient yet with the lovely swimming pool and the patio dining it really felt quite luxurious. Lovely comfy beds and a nice buffet dinner.

The hotel room was clean on the 4th floor . Unfortunately it was not a walking distance from the Center of Bruges as we thought it would be . But as we had our car it was easily accessible.the Staff were very friendly and took their time to be helpful . Our only discomfort was the size of the bed . Even though it was a double bed , it was not a king size bed . Overall the experience was good and we recommend it to our friends .

The hotel is hard to find and away from the city centre . However it offers really nice facilities such as games , swimming pool and lovely restaurant . We had really nice dinner and fresh , tasty breakfast . The only downside is its location , convenient it is but not pretty at all.

Horrendous noise and a bit dated - staff lovely.
Staff were pleasant and helpful especially when called at 00.40 to complain about the terrible noise coming from the children's play area. Not very amusing when you've just driven 400 miles with 300 ahead of you the next morning. Receptionist was very apologetic and having heard the reception phone ringing again I assume (rightly or wrongly) that other guests were complaining. I strongly suggest that this area is closed at 22.30. Towels and bedding spotless as usual but the rooms and bathrooms are in desperate need of refurbishment. Secure car park with plenty of spaces.

Hello , Thank you for taking the time to write your comments regarding your stay at the Novotel Bourges. About establishing itself we are just in a renovation program . The lobby, restaurant, bar , pool and terrace have just been renovated . A fitness room has been created and bedding changed rooms. Work has been delayed and unfortunately the entire renovation of our rooms was not able to finish before the season. This renovation is repelled by year end . Looking forward to welcoming you again in a renovated room with a bathroom worthy of the name . cordially

We stopped here as a family on our way back from Spain, the hotel was surprisingly geared to children with heated outdoor pool, a play area, a games console section, football table and children's menu in the restaurant which all went down well with our 10 year old daughter. Overall no complaints, in my opinion the rooms, especially bathrooms are dated for a 4* standard but other facilities made up for this.

Our stay was comfortable, the room was spaceous with a sofa. A table swings out from the wall unit, ideal for laptops. We liked the sofa for watching tv rather than sitting on the bed. Bourges was about 15 mins in the car, there is a safe carpark area in the town.

Ok Hotel for travellers stopping over but thats it
I stayed here on my way to Spain and following a day driving. It's location is easy access from the motorway and they have plenty of parking however the positives end there. The Hotel needs an upgrade. The building is old fashioned, felt like an old hospital and in the hallways there was a funny smell. I would not stay here again, although it served its purpose. A place to crash after a long drive.

Ideal distance from London and easy to locate
We were traveling through France to Spain with our dog and it was the ideal driving distance from London to break the journey. There was plenty of space to walk the dog when we got there and again in the morning before we left. The staff were lovely and the dinner and breakfast were good. It was good value for money and the dog was very appy staying in our room with us. Am planning to stay there again on the return leg.

Good overnight stay
Hotel was chosen for its secure parking and was only for one night's stay while travelling through France. The hotel was very nice and the food in the evening and at breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly at all times. The only thing we pointed out was that we would like more milk left in the room as we take milk with tea and coffee.

Decent Hotel, Close to Motorway
Everything was OK. The swimming pool was a little "tired" with the paving at one end coming away from the pool. They were short staffed, which meant waiting at an empty bar for quite a few minutes to be served, although the staff that were there were pleasant and helpful. The major thing for us was that it made a good stopover heading to the South of France with the opportunity to chill by the pool and have a reasonable meal.

Convenient, comfy and clean
This was a perfect stopover hotel on the way home from the Med. The surrounding area is uninspiring its on an industrial estate right by the motorway. But it was very easy to get to from the autoroute and there was no noise of the road in the rooms. It was very clean and comfortable, the restaurant food was good and the staff were friendly. It was surrounded by budget hotels with no facilities and those guests had to go into Bourges to eat. I'm glad we paid a little extra to have everything we needed so we could rest after a long drive and get a good nights sleep before another long day in the car. The kids loved having the pool to burn off some energy in.
