Needs work

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The staff was very nice
Cons: Maintenance
The staff was very nice. The room condition was not so nice, The toilet leaked at the bottom, the sink drain was very slow, and we had to keep hitting the TV in order for it to work, and the bath tub looked to be 50 years old with a paint job to try to make it look better.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We have been working very hard on a daily basis to renovate our property and keep all issues to a minimum. We regret that your experience with us was less than exceptional. We have addressed the maintenance issues you described above and they are being looked into. We do understand that the standard rooms have yet to receive updated TV's, but that is something coming soon.

Very close to the casino but that's about it

Posted Sep 5, 2014
The hotel is only about a 10-15 minute walk from the casino and it's very easy to find. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the complementary breakfast was surprisingly nice. The room, however, was just short of disgusting. The shower and sink were nasty and had stray hairs in them, the sink was leaking, there was trash on the floor, and I shudder to think what was on the sheets I slept on. Considering the rates and the proximity to the casino, it wasn't an altogether awful experience but I'd probably rather pay the higher rate to stay at Harrah's next time.

We thank you for the constructive feedback, however we are in the process of adding some major upgrades to our Deluxe rooms. We are working hard to finish them all in a timely manner and by Oct. 1, we will be finished with all new carpet, bedding, furniture and drapes. We have addressed the cleaning issue that you have described and we've recently hired a new executive housekeeper who is illuminating those issues. We hope you give us another shot and come check out our Deluxe rooms.

Review of the Cherokee Grand Hotel

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Proxsimity to attractions.
Cons: Show or tell people what they are getting and search other hotels for compairable rooms and give them a choice.
Location: Harrah, Santa's Land downtown.
The hotel they showed on the internet was a multi-level, but my room was in a single level remodeled wing. The rooms were listed on the internet @ $76 but I wound up paying $140. My room was next to a busy highway and traffic did not slow down until after mid-night. This price was compairable to much nicer hotels in the area.

It appears that you were booked in a Standard room and a Standard room states that it is an exterior-access room. We can not help the traffic noise, seeing as how Cherokee is a busy town especially being this close to the Casino. The next time you come and stay make sure to book for a Deluxe room and you will be indoors through the main building and not next to our pool. As far as our rates go, we feel our rates of comparable to similar surrounding hotels as we provide good value given our central location and extensive facility. We regret this was not your impression, however, we are undergoing major upgrades in all of our Deluxe rooms. We hope you give us another shot and come check them out!

Lost it All

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean! Good weeknight rates!
Cons: Of course, it could always be a little cheaper on weekends.
Location: Casino is across the street, walking distance. I'd say 3/4 mile at most(door to door). Lots of food choices fairly close by.
Didn't win a thing a the casino but enjoyed my stay here. It is walking distance close and shuttle runs on weekends and concerts. Staff is friendly! Free breakfast and it's good!

Close, but no cigar

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The free shuttle to and from the casino was convenient. The vehicle smelled stongly of cigarettee smoke, but the driver was friendly.
Cons: Training regarding customer service. Update decor
The property is listed as a "hotel", but the section we stayed in was what appears to be what is left of the oriignal mototr court. The room and the poole were situated right next to the road (a very busy raod at that) ,thus resulting in a good amount of noise from the street as well as limited privacy. The air conditioner in the room was a wall unit that was very loud and woke us up every time it kicked on. The toilet had some kind of issue as well, and water would run into it intermittently and loudly- also interupting sleep. Everyplace in the hotel smelled like smoke- even the non-smoking room. The decor was extremely dated and sparse. There were very few amenities. The overall experience was disappojnting- especially considering the price.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property and give us some insight on your stay here with us. We truly value the opinions of our guest and we regret that we were unable to meet your expectations. We would like to mention that we are undergoing renovations to our hotel and although it sounds as though you had booked for a standard, outside entrance, room, we are working diligently to update our facility on a daily basis. We also feel that our price ranges are in close comparison to the surrounding hotels in the area and we strive to make sure our guest feel comfortable and always leave feeling satisfied with their stay here.
