Labor Day Ruined

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Leaving it.
Cons: Change/fix things listed above.
Very musty smell in hallway; very hot hallway; terrible colors on walls and carpet--looked nasty. Large leak stain on ceiling; bathtub about 10" high.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean rooms, location
Very impressed with the staff, Teddie was very helpful and so very friendly it was a pleasure to visit with her. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast great. Will definitely stay there again when in the area.

Maggie Valley.

Pros: Friendly staff, safe. They have an indoor pool! You must go outside to get to it however.
Cons: For the price, not much I can think of. Nice continental breakfast in the morning.
Location: Ghost Town in the Sky. Take a chair lift up the mountain, very cool. In winter there is a single slope hill to test your skills.
Was going to a concert in Cherokee but the closest room was in Maggie Valley. You must drive over the mountain to get to Cherokee. If you must get a room not in Cherokee, this is the best place to stay. Good people, easy parking, but the closet grocery store was a long way. Family Dollar was the closet place with any food items and snacks. If you need a ride back from Cherokee from the Casino, consider Cherokee Taxi. They are the only service in the area and have only been there a year. On another note, this was the end of March. On the evening coming back from Cherokee, we experienced all seasons going over the mountain. Snow storm going up the mountain, rain once to Maggie Valley and warm the next day. You could see the snow on the mountain tops.

Pros: No! They were redoing the hotel during my stay and the bathroom door fell off and could not find the toilet paper had to wait until the next morning
The bathroom door fell off, the hotel was being renovated during my stay, there was no snack bar, no toilet paper in the room had to wait until the next day to get it from the maid. it was just horrible

No Comfort at Comfort Inn

Staff was nice and room was mediocre. However, you will not find much difference in sleeping on the bed or the floor. They have GOT to get some better mattresses! Potential customers should also check to see if there is a motorcycle rally going on during their stay. The concerts for the rallies take place right behind the hotel.

Under construction

While our room was clean, the hallways and common rooms were under active construction. The workers were painting all day and the fumes were overwhelming in the entrance and halls. Stay somewhere else until they are done with the redo!
