Old and badly needing upgradesPosted Oct 23, 2014
Cons: Most everything
Location: Smoky Mountains, Biltmore/Ashville.
Was an excellent venue in past time. Has aged and needs many upgrades. Breakfast is it's best value. As not a golfer, cannot rate overall value as most residents play the course. With significant upgrade, could be excellent.

Beautiful surroundingsPosted Oct 22, 2014
We stayed in the Golfview building on the first floor. It had a nice back patio with a beautiful view of the golf course and mountains behind. The free breakfast was very good, had a guy making omelets to order. The hotel is older but in good condition. The bad part was the beds, not uncomfortable. Everything else was good, including the staff.

Golf ResortPosted Oct 17, 2014
Pros: Nice location and beautiful grounds. Nice breakfast
Cons: Remodel the rooms and the casual restaurant
Room was very dated. Carpeting needed to be changed. Entry door and lock were loose so that entire door shook whenever anyone walked by. Nice grounds though. Way too expensive price for the quality of the room. Would not stay again unless remodeled. Hot breakfast was nice and friendly staff.

Beautiful golf course, great breakfast and staffPosted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: Location, view, nostalgia. Staff very nice, best breakfast!!!!
Cons: New bed!!!!
Location: Right near the blue ridge parkway and the smoky mountains!
This was an older golf course and country club that is quaint and clean. Beautiful course, although we did not get to play golf, just admired it. Checked in early evening, so ordered carry out from one of the two restaurants. My husband was disappointed, French fries not crispy but wimpy, and the catfish was heavily breaded and greasy. The coleslaw was great. But overall it was thumbs down. Now we were not disappointed in the breakfast at the other restaraunt the next morning. The staff was excellent and the best omlettes!! Grits were best we have ever had, as well as the bisquits and gravy. The rooms were Comfortable and cozy. Clean, but older, a/c worked great and they had a beautiful view of the golf course!! Lol, just have to remember you are on a golf course and have to be respectful to the golfers! But it needs a new bed, unless like like a very hard flat bed.

The employees were greatPosted Oct 1, 2014
I liked the big closet/dressing room , the kitchen area was much better than most and loved the porch with screened doors. It was one of the Mtn view rooms. The breakfast was very good and they had every breakfast food you could ever want. The staff members were all very kind. I hope to go back. :)

Good resort in beautiful NC mountainsPosted Sep 3, 2014
This resort is nice enough, showing its age in a few places, but seems fairly well maintained. Our "historic" room was a little dated, but comfortable overall.

Comfortable quiet secluded nice serene viewPosted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Casual setting
Cons: A little worn. Update electrical
Location: We enjoy antique shopping and a nice place for a casual meal this town has both
Experience was positive no negatives rest was needed and that we did would have liked the spa but short on time

Great location for our visit to the Smokey MtsPosted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable, not fancy, but just fine. Great breakfast each day.
Cons: maybe have a microwave in the room.
Location: Visited Cherokee (the museum, Qualla Craft), Asheville, (great art, music, food), Smokey Mt. Nat. park, toured Penland craft school
I booked this hotel because it had a golf course and was reasonably priced, and not a "chain." The facility was very comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, the room price included a wonderful breakfast in the restaurant. The golf course was very nice, beautiful setting with the mountains in the background. It was conveniently located near Asheville and Cherokee, NC and the little town of Waynesville was just lovely. A nice little "gem," "Old Style summer resort."
