Decent value but needs more upkeep

Posted May 9, 2013
The hotel was good value and the breakfast good, but there was a definite need for some maintenance. For example the toilet/bathroom door would not shut. No other major issues.

double room not what pictured

Posted Dec 12, 2011 on Hotels.com
Hotel was rather nice and staff semeed friendly, but was very dissappinted as the pictured double room (which features a 4 poster bed) is not what you get at all. The double room is very small and compact with not a lot of room. Though the bed was comfy and i admit i did sleep very well, it wasn't what I booked as I have to say the only reason I booked the hotel was because of the bed pictured. In conclusion, if your looking for a nice hotel which is comfortable then stay here. But do not expect a 4 poster bed.

Beware of room 6

Posted Dec 12, 2010 on Hotels.com
It is a shame there are still some 'hoteliers' who attempt to let out sub-standard rooms even when they know it is unacceptable to the traveller! Beware of room 6 which I was allocated. The heating could not be turned down, the window would not close and lock (this room is on the ground floor and facing the car park!) and there was hardly any space to walk around the bed. Saying that, as soon as I complained I was moved to a new room immediately without any quibbles, which was bigger, clean, nice and tidy. The remainder of the stay was fine (Monica in reception was very helpful). Resturant menu limited but okay. It is just such a shame that they tried to place someone in a room they must have known was not up to scratch, given the speed they moved me with.

cold plates

Posted Oct 2, 2009
Although the breakfast food was excellantly cooked the plates were cold, a waste of the chef's time and expertise preparing hot food when it is going to congeal on your plate before you finish, even pointing this out to the staff did not produce a marked improvement the next day. May I suggest that the staff visit an Indian restaurant where the plates remain hot for the duration of the meal. My room was also cold, there were no blankets or secondary heating, was given an additional duvet.
