Not up to usual Hilton standardsPosted Oct 8, 2014
Our room was shabby in need of redecoration. The pool and health club is over run by members with hotel guests getting second best. Very busy hotel and noisy at night. Having stayed at several Hilton hotels in the past we wouldn't rush back to this hotel

Chester overnight stayPosted Oct 6, 2014
Hotel was lovely, just off the motorway with free parking and just a short taxi ride into the centre. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. The cookie on check in was a nice treat. The best thing about our stay was the access to the spa/pool. Would definitely recommend it for a stay in Chester.

AnniversaryPosted Sep 6, 2014
We arrived and received a very warm welcome and was able to go our room straight away. On our anniversary day a cake was left in our room which we thought was such a lovely touch. Our room was comfortable, with everything we needed. The bathroom was a tiny bit less clean then the bedroom but not enough to complain about. What we really appreciated was being able to stay in room till noon. An extra hour makes all the diference sometimes.

NoisePosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Clean modern, parking, fantastic restaurant,
Cons: be more choosey about wedding parties
Location: Chester, great cathedral
Friday night we were woken three times by rowdy people in the corridors who were staying for a wedding. We mentioned this to the manager the next morning and he apologised, said they were a difficult group of clients and gave us the next night for free. Nice and much appreciated, the next night was bliss

Lovely hotel close to the city centrePosted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: The spa facilities were excellent :) and it was very welcoming and quiet
Cons: Could of improved our room view and made the air-con easy to use as it was very complicated
Location: Bus ride to Chester city centre, 2 buses to Cheshire oaks which went past Chester Zoo and Aquarium.
I went with my girlfriend for a little break away, It was a great experience and I would like to go there again, The room had a few problems with it such as a cracked mirror and a broken light. Even though it wasn't a great view as we was looking out to the bins but it didn't ruin the experience,

Great hotel, close to Chester in lovely settingPosted Sep 2, 2014
I loved my stay at the DoubleTree in Chester. The room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. The grounds surrounding the hotel are stunning and the spa was a great place for my boyfriend and I to relax and celebrate his 21st Birthday. The hotel is very close to Chester so there is lots to do. We only stayed one night and wish it could have been longer. I would definitely go back!!

Wonderful setting but looks can deceive..Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Brasserie restaurant was well worth a visit. There is a spa but sadly we didn't get chance to use it during our stay.
Cons: Definitely cleanliness!
Location: Cheshire Oaks was good for outlet shopping, Chester Zoo - lovely day out if somewhat expensive entrance fee. The Blue Planet Aquarium was very nice.
The hotel is easy to find from the motorway and is set in stunning grounds which were very impressive as we drove up the driveway. Evidently it is popular for weddings, there was one on each of the three days we were there. I'm sure the lovely setting has a lot to do with this. It is It is close to Cheshire Oaks, The Blue Planet Aquarium and Chester Zoo. The Brasserie restaurant in the hotel had delicious food and is well worth a visit. The cleanliness of the room however was incredibly lackadaisical and sadly left us feeling very disappointed. Within minutes of entering our room we noticed that there were black hairs in the shower, toilet bowl and on the lamp in the bedroom. There was a window between the shower room and the bedroom which seems totally bizarre as it wasn't even frosted glass. Upon this window some previous occupant had written foul language which became apparent as the shower room steamed up. Not sure how long this had been there but it was there for the two nights we stayed. I stayed with my daughter of the first level of the hotel in a twin room whilst my husband was on the second level and unfortunately the difference in the room standard really did appear to be a case of upper and lower - not sure why as the rooms cost the same. Had I not stayed in Double Tree by Hilton hotels before I would probably never stay in one again. Chester you let the side down....
