“Lovely hotel”

Stayed for our Anniversary and a day at Chester Races followed by a spot of shopping in Chester the next day. I emailed the hotel in advance of our stay to see if we could check in earlier due to going to races. I got a prompt mail back saying they would do what they could. They stuck to their word and our room was ready early on the day. It was a lovely big room, very nice. The hotel isn't in Chester but isn't far from the park and ride which takes about 10 mins to get in the city centre. We didn't sample the food in the hotel as we ate out so can't comment on that. All in all a great stay

“Weekend Break Away”

Love Nelson's Bar. Very relaxing and the atmosphere is great. Bar staff very friendly. Had a meal in Ciro's on Saturday. Lovely champagne and fantastic steaks. Wonderful surprise massage on Sunday (Mother's Day) All in all, a fabulous time for both my husband and I.

“Excellant Wedding Venue”

perfect rural hotel, stayed here for 2 nights in November for a wedding. fantastic hotel and grounds. the staff were the best ive seen in a hotel, everyone was happy to be working there. if you are thinking of having a party here you can guarantee that the staff here know what to do! rest assured that they know there business inside out. will return for sure.

“First trip with baby”

We took our 5 month old daughter away for the first time and decided to stay at the Grosvenor Pulford. The hotel was extremly accomodating of any requests. The room was a little dated but warm, clean and large enough to house a travel cot comfortably (executive room). We ate in the hotel twice and on both occasions the food and service were excellent. We made use of the new spa. Our daughter loved the swimming pool. In summmary a very pleasant, baby friendly hotel.

“great hotel”

This was a great hotel on the outskirts of Chester in a lovely location. The executive rooms were very big and very comfortable, with a big bathroom and an excellent shower.

“Not impressed”

Having stayed in 7 different hotels in the last 2 weeks in Wales and nearby, this was the most expensive but also the worst, overall. Whilst there was nothing seriously wrong, it certainly did not stand out. The self service breakfast was poor.

“Expected more from the room”

Hotel amenities very good (bar, pool etc). Room a little disappointing - for the price I expected a larger, nicer room, also the bathroom could have been cleaner.

I didn't expect the Grosvenor Pulford to be the best Hotel in the world, but you do expect certain standards. Particularly in relation to cleanliness. Things got off on the wrong foot from the start, when we were asked if we wanted help with our bags, we accepted, but were just given directions to the lift. On arrival in our room, all seemed fine, but we quickly realised that no toiletries had been provided in the bathroom, not even soap. A quick call and 20 minute wait saw that resolved. Then again on checkout when leaving the room I found a dirty plate and teaspoon in the wardrobe, not nice. The biggest problem for me was the breakfast though, there was dirty cutlery on our table, there were dirty plates at the buffet serving area, and very few staff around. We had to ask to order tea and toast, which was swift in coming, but ultimately these little things really let the side down. We did pass on our thoughts as we left and checked out. But when your running supposedly a 4 star hotel these basics are a pre-requisite. We will not be returning.
