Location, location, location is the key. Right in the heart of Chester with easy access to the Cathedral, the Castle, the race track and the town hall. The continental breakfast included in the tariff was excellent. Overall a great experience.

We stayed at the hotel in a Sunday evening in November. Upon check in we were given warm cookies which was a nice touch. The room itself was spotless & very comfortable. The beds were a little "springy" but comfortable non-the-less. The pool/spa area was wonderful. Very relaxing & the open air jacuzzi was great. We are already planning our next stay at the hotel.

Modern hotel convenient for the Manchester motorway network and Manchester Airport. Friendly staff, large well equipped comfortable bedroom, fantastic leisure facilities including the largest hotel indoor pool I have come across with Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Ample free parking and WiFi.

Nunsmere Hall was exactly what we were looking for - a traditional luxury country house in attractive grounds with a quiet and sophisticated atmospehere reflected in the facilities, the beautiful furnishings and the respectful and friendly attention from very professional staff. Every aspect of our stay impressed from Melvin's warm, personal welcome to the scale and opulence of the Hydrangea bedroom; from the personal attentiveness from our bar steward to the quality breafast before departure.
Despite an early check in (before 1pm) we were disappointed to find no table available to book for dinner at a reasonable time. I understand that success breeds demand but felt that something might have been done to accommodate residents. Nonetheless, a great experience which we will repeat.

Stayed in this hotel in year Liverpool was City of Culture (2008?), very mediocre hotel then, probably wouldn't have used it again. The hotel has been transformed, quality of room, public areas - Waiting Room Bar was quite poor quality, even dodgy. Transformed, very pleasant facility, complimented by very good quality staff, training has obviously been paramount - well done Feathers! Excellent breakfast, fresh fruit in abundance, theatre of chef cooking fresh omelletes as requested, excellent. Owners have listened to criticism of high car park charges, £10 per 24 hrs Mon-Fri is quite acceptable.

"Hotel was well appointed with excellent location."
We were extremely pleased with the hotel, and made full use of the leisure facilities, including the steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi, swimming pool, which were all well maintained and clean. The Receptionist endeavoured to upgrade our room upon discovering that we were on honeymoon having married on the previous Saturday. Sadly the hotel was fully booked and she was unable to carry out the upgrade. The food was superb based on the set menu as part of the deal and waiting staff very efficient and helpful. We would not hesitate in recommending the hotel and would really love to stay there again, perhaps as an anniversary treat! Location was good in relation to the various popular Peak District towns, and Peak District activities.

Me & my husband have just spent a wonderful few days at The Mere Hotel. It was everything I was hoping for, the hotel itself has lovely decor of a very high standard. The bedrooms are spacious and well equiped with adjustable heating and the bathrooms are also very good with under floor heating and lovely showers. We tried both restaurants during our stay: the bar restaurant is very nice and the food is of a good standard, Browns restaurant is also very nice and the food is of a high standard, well done to all the chefs for providing such lovely meals! The swimming pool and jacuzzi are very good, it was nice to have a jacuzzi that was lovely and warm, so relaxing. The various thermal rooms were also very good. Me & my husband enjoyed these facilities immensely. The hotel is in lovely grounds with a view of a large lake and golf course, unfortunately neither me or my husband play golf so I can't really comment on the golf course apart from the fact that it looked to be kept in immaculate condition. Finally, the staff, what can I say, they were so friendly, always giving a smile and asking if you were enjoying your stay. They were all efficient and polite, going the extra mile to ensure your stay was an enjoyable one. Many thanks to them all for making our stay such an enjoyable one!

We stayed for one night for our anniversary and also booked in at the Arboreum Restaurant for their three course meal
The hotel was easily found right off the motorway and plenty of parking was available even though there was a wedding on the night we stayed. Check-in was quick and easy and we were directed to our room.
The room itself was much larger than we had expected with a Super King size bed, seating area and dresser and the room was clean and well presented. Tea and coffee were provided and there was also an iron and ironing board. For those people that like to stay in their rooms there was also a TV with Sky Sports and Freeview channels available.
The food in the restaurant was good and very reasonably priced. We found the drinks to be on the expensive side although considering the price of the food we didn't mind too much.
We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in a small basic double economy room and it was plenty big enough for 2 people. Ensuite was very small but as this was only for 1 night it was fine. Very quiet location, ideal for Chester university and the city center.
