Rhinewood Country House Hotel

Posted May 29, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everthing
Location: The only saving grace
Rhinewood Country House Hotel Stayed there on the advice of one of Expedia staff. On arrival only one staff member visible at the hotel. All facilities at the hotel were closed until breakfast the following morning. Had to request extra heating in the room as it was so cold. The room smelt stale. All the room furnishings were so out of date and only just met the minimum requirements of a ONE STAR ESTABLISMENT. Noise throughout the evening and into the night, when reported to the staff the next morning, was met will little response. A number of facilities not available had to request a hairdryer (Which blew up when been used). The most uncomfortable night ever spent in a hotel. They should have paid us £57.00 for enduring such an experience instead of us paying any monies to this hotel. One could go on about the establishment. I would hope that Expedia would refrain from using this establishment, until such time as there is a complete refurbishment programme completed and that the star rating is re-assed. Until then it is Expedia’s reputation at will suffer as this establishment should currently have a star rating of ZERO

Was told on arrival that the kitchen was closed, book here as everything was in the hotel! Pillows were as flat as pancakes, the bathroom door had no catch just the handles so couldn't shut the door, room was stuffy and dead flies on windowsills.

A little more insulation for the rooms would be a huge benefit!

Good overnight stay

Comfortable hotel and within easy reach of the major roads in the area. Room was comfortable and warm with a decent sized bathroom. A country retreat in the middle of industrial west Manchester.

One to miss

Posted Mar 6, 2015 on Hotels
Poor quality the room was freezing even with a wall heater on and a portable heater on. I must have been near to where the heating system was because it banged and clattered all night long. The bar/restaurant areas were very basic to say the least. This is not one I would recommend nor book again myself.

Glazebrook (West of Manchester)

Posted Mar 5, 2015 on Hotels
Needed a hotel between WARRINGTON and MANCHESTER. Of all hotels around J21 Decided on RHINEBROOK for price. It is north of the canal however be aware M6 northbound J21 to A57 is easy but there is no M6 southbound join from A57. Had to ask for room carpet to be hoovered. 110% service next day. Room amenities good. Bar meals basic not all available. Plenty parking spread around hotel. Advised that hotel can be busy when major football scheduled. Going northbound would stay again if price low. Best food close by at Black Swan.

The hotel is one of the few in the area however it is not a place to stay over the weekend as they do not serve any food and the station is closed. The room was clean the staff is very friendly.
