Needs renovating again!Posted May 22, 2013
Pros: Close to city centre
Cons: Bedroom, you had to walk through a busy bar to get to bedrooms, busy bar open to public, beds uncomfortable & hotel not quiet, over priced
Absolutely disgusting & not worth the money I paid for this hotel & not even offered refund I will never book again
friendly staff made to feel welcomePosted Jan 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel rooms are a little tired, but overall the stay was very pleasant , the staff were very welcoming and made us feel valued. The breakfast was lovely and service great. Free parking was a bonus and we were allowed to leave the car on the carpark the next day when we walked into town. The town is about a 15minute walk . I would stay here again good value for money.

ConvenientPosted Sep 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
Overall: a convenient overnight stop off. Highlights: friendly and accommodating staff, pleasant bar area, clean and a great breakfast. Low points: Felt like a pub with rooms rather than a hotel, dated, a bit noisy.

Very pleased with valuePosted Jul 7, 2012
Not luxurious but comfortable. All facilities were there, fridge, hairdryer, shower, large tv,tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits. Good breakfast and good location for Chester with bus stops very near if required. Good value for money and we would recommend it.

Good place to stayPosted Jun 22, 2012
Pros: Good car parking, food very reasonably priced, well cooked and pleasant staff
Cons: Reception area needs to be upgraded
Location: great location, Chester is easily accessible on foot and the motorway is also close by.
Staff were attentive and helpful. The car parking is good and the car park is easily accessible from the main road. Much work has been done since we last used this facility approx 2 years ago with the result that it is now much more comefortable. I would use Bawn Lodge in future.

The room was as I should expect it to be, except the shower being a bit lacking as the shower head didn't stay up well. Breakfast was pretty good and it is not bad for location. There is a lively looking bar downstairs so people who want a really quiet, early rest may find it a bit noisy, although I didn't have amjor problems (and to be fair I arrived quite late!)

A Happy New YearPosted Jan 4, 2012 on Hotels.com
Picked the Bawn to spend a couple of days over the new year holiday. No problem finding the place and is situated in a reasonable village area with all things catered for in the near vicinity but still only a 20 minute walk from the town centre. The decorations are a bit dated but for a couple of nights get away it was more than adequate. It's more of a pub with rooms than a standard hotel but the food was very reasonably priced in the evening and the breakfast very nice each morning. Comfortable bed, big telly, adequate bathroom/toilet - would stay again no problem. If you are as unfortunate as us and get a flat tyre on your way, there is even a tyre garage just 2 minutes walk away. Bonus!!!
