Good hotel in excellent city centre positionPosted Jan 1, 2015
Pros: Well positioned and a lovely interior.
Cons: Staff need to more precise with waiting times.
Location: City centre position
The hotel was very conveniently positioned in the heart of chester. Room was well equipped and comfortable. We did encounter a couple of delays - requested coffee tray to our room and was told it would be 10/15 minutes after 40 minutes of waiting we decided it was quicker to walk into town to get one! When we asked for the return of our car from valet parking we were told 10 minutes and again this turned into 40 minutes... So be prepared to ask well in advance. Also on checkout we were billed £120 for meals from brasserie that weren't ours!!! Did get this sorted, but check carefully.

Fantastic hotelPosted Dec 13, 2014
Pros: The whole experience of our stay at the hotel was fantastic
Cons: Nothing to improve.
Location: Great location, right in the centre, all the shops, historical sights, bars and restaurants, the river 5 mins walk away.
Great experience, in the centre of Chester, a great historical city. Close to all the shops, relaxing and comfortable.

Good hotel, easy access poor continental breakfastPosted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: Everything except the above
Cons: Tea making facilities in room and meats/cheese with continental breakfast for those who do not require a full breakfast
Excellent rooms and service but continental breakfast had no meats or cheese, only pastries, so had to have a full English breakfast. Also no tea making facilities in the room. Otherwise excellent stay

Nothing special for the price tagPosted Nov 10, 2014
Arrived to a 25 minute wait at the check in desk. No problems at first, we were asked if we would like complimentary morning coffee to which we said yes...only to find out later on it had actually cost us £9.50. We finally managed to get up to the room after some confusion about the reservation to find the bottom three inches of the door was missing...not great privacy to say the least...and to find the same missing off the bathroom door was an unpleasant surprise too! Disturbances by maids and other staff ringing the deafening doorbell at 8am and 9am on a Sunday morning was not my idea of a relaxing Sunday morning lie in! Breakfast was non descript...cold toast and the same filter coffee as we were charged over the odds for at the 8am wake up call! Priced over the odds for a less than adequate product. On the upside the staff were lovely! Never again though thanks...

Good hotel, small room and not worth the moneyPosted Oct 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
The service was good albeit very slow at breakfast, I was amazed just how small the bedroom was and it didn't have tea or coffee facilities apparently these are on request. It's porobably because there wasn't anywhere to put them.

Heart of ChesterPosted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: Location and comfort.
Cons: Earlier room cleaning.
Location: See above
Location, location, location is the key. Right in the heart of Chester with easy access to the Cathedral, the Castle, the race track and the town hall. The continental breakfast included in the tariff was excellent. Overall a great experience.
