Excellent staff just a few silly things that you expect with 5 star no drink facilities in room or cosmetic cotton wool buds or pads . Bathroom on the small side and bath with shower curtain not a screen . Bed and pillows comfortable room a good size. Everywhere spotlessly clean and staff friendly. Food was very good . Enjoyable stay

Booked this as a secret hotel with Expedia that clearly stated "in the vicinity of Chester train station" it is not, not the hotel fault but Expedia's. People laughed at it saying this hotel is a good 2 miles from the train station. So incurred additional travelling costs and I am going to dispute with Expedia so no one else ends up in the same situation.
However, if you chose this hotel yourself and you understand were it is then it's a nice hotel.
Rooms are way too hot so they need to address this, you would expect a hotel with 4 star to have air con. Looking slightly tired could do with better decorating to make more presentable. Extortionate bar prices and totally not acceptable.
Can't comment on the restaurant as did not have breakfast (again slightly pricey).

Lovely room, very helpful staff and cookie on arrival is a nice touch. Wedding disco was pretty loud but to be expected I suppose if you stay on a Sat night. Worst sandwich ever in the bar though. Just wanted a simple cheese & pickle and ended up with what can only be described as a pickle sandwich sprinkled with a bit if cheese! Very salty and acidic and not nice at all! Overall stay was lovely though and had a good nights sleep.

This hotel is in a great position and is modern, quirky and well run with very good food.
Our room was in many ways delightful.
However there is a big BUT. The bed was in a loft area and even though the weather was not exceptionally warm the whole room was very warm and the bed area really hot. There was zircon but it did not seem to work very well and our night as a consequence was not as good as it could have been.

We stayed in January with our granddaughter following a visit to Chester Zoo. The hotel was very warm and welcoming. Staff very friendly and helpful. The only problem for us with our arthritic knees was the lack of a lift but hey ho we needed the exercise!

My husband and I stayed for two nights, both days weddings were being held there, but, thankfully, we heard nothing. We stayed in room 56, an executive room. The room was nice and tastefully decorated, nothing too special but met all our needs.
We used the swimming pool which was a bit cold for my liking but the jacuzzi was lovely and warm.
We ate at the Nelson pub, which is attached to the hotel. The food there was lovely and staff all very pleasant. Nice atmosphere in there too.
Breakfast was in Ciros Bistro. We had the full English both mornings and although it wasn't piping hot it was enjoyable.
The location is brilliant, only five mins away from park and ride into Chester and not far from Cheshire Oaks. There's a bus stop just 2 mins walk away as well.

Sitting on the banks of the River Dee, Chester is a beautiful city and the gateway to North Wales. The striking city walls envelop the medieval town, offering superb views of Chester Racecourse and the famous Eastgate Clock for those who walk the circuit. Grosvenor Park gives way to 20 acres of greenery, where visitors can ride the miniature railway and admire the fountains and streams along the way.
