“Soltari”

This hotel had excellent internet wifi and an excellent flat screen monitor that rotated. I could watch a DVD and work at the same time, after moving the table.

“Nice for the Price”

We found the Hilton Garden Inn to be a nice motel at a decent price. We spent two nights while visiting family. The bed and the chairs were very comfortable. We really appreciated the nice selection of coffee and teas in the lobby, and the fridge and microwave in the room were helpful. The shower was great--loved the adjustable head. Although we didn't use the pool area or exercise room, they looked very nice. Just a few things were not optimal. The motel had strong odors in certain areas--parts of the first floor smelled strongly of pool chemicals from the pool below. Another area on the first floor had a musty smell. The entry area of the guest room was so narrow that it was hard for two people to pass each other. We'll definitely consider staying here again.

We actually spent most of our time in Michigan City so I can't really speak on Chesterton.

Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets.

Dining

Swing bellies for burgers and a view of the lake. Albano's for pizza. Shoreline Brewery offers a family room as well as a fine selection of their own beers. We didn't eat a meal there but the menu is very promising.

“Good pick”

very nice hotel with excellent rooms and atmosphere. Only drawback is the smoking areas outside are right under the air conditioners and suck in all the smoke.

“Will not return”

It says there is a bar/lounge at this hotel... there is not. They sell beer and wine at the front desk and they have a little place to eat in the lobby. The tv's were older than I am and the pool chemicals were so strong that I couldn't take my youngest in the pool area. For what we paid for this hotel I was expecting much more. I will not return.

“exellent service, friendly staff”

Great location for my visit. Within 10 minutes of my destination. Easy on off from expressway. Very nice facility and good service. Available internet was very helpful.

Area recommendations

Chesterton farmers Market was very good. I would suggest some Michigan City restaurants as very good and nice lake location.

“You will be EXTREMELY SATISFIED!!”

Very nice experience from the moment we drove in and parked. The hotel property is everthing you would expect from a Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel staff was extremely friendly. The room was very clean and had a "new" feeling and I felt pampered by the very comfortable mattress and pillows. The halls and lobby were very clean and freshly vacuumed throughout the day. This hotel is the real deal!! There is a great restaurant on the premises and a Bob Evans in the parking lot.

“Nice hotel in a small town”

Hotel was just off the interstate, so very easy to find and get to. The facility seemed pretty new - if it's not, they keep it in fantastic shape. The Expedia offer for rooms with breakfast was definitely worth it. Not your average stale donuts and coffee, buffet had made to order eggs, waffles, french toast, pancakes... as well as a good selection of fresh fruits, cereals, pastries. I was impressed with the selection of healthy options. Usually they are few and far between. The rooms were spacious, clean and easy to keep at a comfortable temperature. We would definitely stay there again.

Area recommendations

The retail area just south of the hotel has a wide variety of restaurants and services available. Although it's quicker to head north, the selection there is slimmer and the area is generally older.

“Nice location”

It was a good place to stop for a quick overnight trip. (I think we only stayed there for 7 hours before we were on the road again.) The breakfast in the morning looked great but we didnt have any. Only thing i didnt like is that there was no recyling of cans at the hotel. After traveling from the roadtrip we had a lot of soda cans to recycle that we just had to keep with us.

“Nice hotel”

Everything was good. The only thing is that the restaurant was not available for lunch or dinner...only breakfast. The pool was a little dirty. Other than that, it was good. Restaurants are near the hotel.
