Kayaks and life vests were under repair so not available for use. Rooms are very simple - our bed had hair all over it so had to have manager replace sheets - polyester sheets. No A/C - suffered worst hot night in bed - did not sleep.

Room was filthy in very bad shape. Mirror dirty, stinky loose and dirty, faucet was a rusted tube, no hot water, one night stand broke and one pulled out off the wall, cheap towels, the lagoon area was very dirty. Not a good place. We stayed at a lot wonderful hotel the next day, casa Maria, for less than casa corazón and the view was magnificent, room excellent w/tv.

Not flexible at all. Do not accept cancellation even if you give notice 24 hrs before. Small beds. Dirt on sheets. Shower with no pressure and shower carpet really disgusting. No potable water in the room. They charged us more money to change room (we did prefer 2 beds instead of one (our mistake at the moment of the reservation) and did berrely accept to give us back the extra for the 2nd night that we did want to cancel. We did not like our experience in this place.

The worst experience of my life and I actually started a process with Expedia Leto get my money back. It was a rat hole, dirty, no water for toilets or drink. The beds were on cement, no air conditioning, the worst service ever. Horrible experience

The hotel has a great location, however it was really expensive for the conditions that it offers. The bed was really hard, the bathroom had a horrible smell, the shower terrible.

So bad we checked out after one night.
The setting of the hotel was beautiful, right on the edge of Lagunar Bacalar. Everything else about Casa Corazon was awful. The walls were so thin we could hear noises from the bathrooms on both sides of our room. The bed was uncomfortable, and the bed linens and towels were of poor quality. It turned out that the locals know how bad this place is and never recommend it to friends. We made a reservation based on a positive review in Lonely Planet--the last time I'll trust that guide book.

We booked here as we were in a hostel when my girlfriend got sick, so we moved for some privacy. We were paying £20 a night at the hostel and £80 here, but other than the lagoon being outside it’s ridiculous money. The flooring is all concrete, no proper doors on the bathroom, stained bed sheets, no air con as stated on the site. The wifi was down most of the day, not normally an issue but being stuck inside was no fun. Overal, it was fine, staff were helpful enough but we would never go back. If we paid £20 ish, this is the standards we would be expecting which as backpackers is fine for us, however paying £80 a night was unbelievable.

Not worth the price
The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. AC and hot water in every room... But nothing more than that. Way overpriced for what you get.

Beautiful surroundings, not so comfy rooms.
The location was nice, but the sign was completely hidden from the main road so we passed it a dozen times! No AC in the rooms - which could have been my mistake as I always check the hotel amenities. The shower spout barely spewed water so that was a bit frustrating. Walls were stark. We did have a beautiful partial ocean view which was appreciated. There was a cool dock with hammocks and such but no restaurant or bar. Wifi did not work well at all. The staff was friendly, and did ask us if we wanted tours - but you can find cheaper ones if you walk the center and ask around. I wouldnt stay here again, but it wasn the worst place to be...just have to get outside and enjoy!

My room had an odor of feces. It was not from the bathroom, so I don't think it was sewer gas. There was at best a drizzle for a shower. Not much more than pencil thin. The lobby was smell-free and tidy, and the grounds beautiful. So, ask to see a room first, and make sure.

This is a small, very low budget hostel. It is not a hotel, it is more like a very basic hostel. No furniture, all is cement based even the bed. The sheets were stained. We only stayed there because a cousin of us recommended it, but upon arrival... we cancelled immediately and ran out of there as quickly as we could!

The best by the lake only for connoisseurs
If you want air conditioning and a tv this is not the choice; but if you want a quiet place by the lake with some free hammocks and want to swim this is it! Do not come if you want a city-like hotel. Come if you want a new beautiful experience... Bring A LOT of mosquitoes repellent (OFF is the best but not sold in town) since you are by the shore of course. Pay 80 bucks for a 2 Hr boat tour and you can be picked up just in front of the hotel! :)

Best spot in Bacalar!
This was out favourite place and hotel for our entire stay in Mexico. Beautiful private dock to a great swimming spot. Secluded and romantic. Quiet. Beautiful. A gem!!! Felt completely perfect! Even a boat ride around the lake- gave further evidence to what a great spot we had! The only down side is that there is no restaurant on site.. but there are hotels on each side 50 meters away with food for purchase.

Experience was awful! !! We booked for two nights but we ended up staying one night because we had no choice and then leaving in the morning. - rooms had cockroaches - toilet smelled - sheets were dirty (yellow stains and blood drops)

Lower your expectations
It's a small dense hotel on a small lot on the shore of gorgeous Laguna Bacalar. No frills, you'll definitely hear your neighbors, the 100-thread count sheets were clean, communal kitchen was filthy. The dock out on the lake was the best thing about it. It's a long walk to town/services but there's a decent restaurant maybe 200 meters up the road. Overall we felt it wasn't worth what we paid. Every time we got back to our room we wished we were someplace else, so we left early.

Casa Corazon was a pleasure...
Very nice stay- complete kitchen set up- dock and very friendly people worked there. It was easy to check in and out. Anytime. The room was very clean and the fan and TV was working. I would stay there again for sure at an amazing rate. Location was right on the Lagoon.

Out of the way hotel on the lagune
We were looking for an interesting destination on our way from Belize to Cancun. Although this hotel is right on the lagun but, unless you have a vehicle, it is very out of the way. There is no restaurant but there is a great restaurant 5 minutes walk away. The decor is lovely, the bed was comfortable. There is a a dock to swim from and a gazebo with hammocks.The service was problematic and unfriendly. I had to prove our reservation but they were reluctant to let us use their internet (finally allowed so we could prove our www.hotel.com paid reservation!) There was no hot water for one of the days, no pillow cases and we had to ask for soap.

Nous avons aimés l’accès directe au lac, la courtoisie des employés de l’établissement et la tranquillité. Les hamacs extérieurs étaient bien, les chaises n’ont pas de coussin, donc un peu moins confortable. Vous aurez besoin de prendre un taxi pour vous rendre au centre (ou 45 min à pieds). Sommes toute bien pour l’accessibilité au lac.

Cuando llegamos el hotel no tenia registrada nuestra reservacion con la excusa de que no trabaja con la pagina de hoteles.com porlo que nos tuvieron que acomodar en otra habitacion que no habiamos reservado y pagado con anticipacion, nos ofrecieron cortesias como compensacion dd este incidente las cuales nos las terminaron dando de mala gana, de igual manera solicitamos facturacion a la llegada del establecimiento la cual nunca enviaron
