Pleasant but not an upscale experiencePosted Aug 9, 2013
Pros: Generally a good vibe and food was good.
Location: Many places to see in the area of the Chateaux de la Loire.
The place is nice and the staff is pleasant however nothing about the experience is superior. The rooms and suites are average and poorly decorated. Nothing is really wrong but definitely under compared to other places rated similarly. Good place for kids with a nice park though and price is reasonable. Webaholics should avoid the place, the internet speed is appalling.

Beautiful chateau.... but They didn't wash glassesPosted Apr 9, 2013
Pros: Beatiful country setting
Cons: Not washing Glasses... gross
I like the Hotel, the staff was friend, it was a nice, beautiful place. BUT they did not wash the glasses in the room, they simply wiped them out and put them back in the bathroom. I know this because of a simple trick to see. I got a ballpoint pen and put two small marks on the bottoms of the glasses. Well magicly both glasses made it back to the same room, with the marks still on them (even though there were other guests at the hotel). These marks wash off very easily or wipe off very easily (so if truely washed in a machine or by hand, they would come off instantly, since the ink really doesn't last on glass). So they apparently just wiped out the cup ... as you could still clearly see the pen marks, and also could see wipe marks inside the cups. This is gross and very unsanitary. Bad part is they must of just used our dirty wet towels to wipe them out... very unprofessional. Funny part is if you try this pen marking trick... you will see about 1/2 of all hotels have maids that are too lazy to actually go and replace the cups with new ones.. rather just quickly wipe them with a towel.. good way to pass on illnesses! Hotel was nice, beautiful and a cool place to visit... but the cup thing shouldn't be happening.. gross. One other point is the next day when we went to check out they put on 2 breakfast buffet charges on our bill. Its a small place so can't imagine how they can mistakenly put on charges. But anyway I told them, and they promptly removed the charges.

Chateau in beautiful surroundingsPosted Oct 18, 2011
The Chateau is picture postcard beautiful set in quiet, secluded woods and gardens. The room was spacious and comfortable but not luxurious. (There are only 16 rooms in the chateau itself with others in another building.) The service was impeccable- very friendly, English speaking staff. The location, not far from Blois and Cheverny, is excellent if you have a car and intend to explore the Loire Valley and its famous chateaux. Make a reservation for dinner as it books out quickly on the weekends.

Lots of charm.Posted Jul 17, 2011
The hotel was charming. We did not stay in the main building but in another building which had been recently renovated. It was very nice and we had a balcony that had a table and chairs that had a beautiful overlook. This chateau and the surrounding out buildings and property had lots of beauty and character. We had dinner at the chateau one night which was excellent. Breakfast was good too. This is rural setting but there are many chateaus in the area to tour. Staff was friendly and helpful.

You are really not staying at the chateau section but the new building. The room misses some essentials. The pool is in very bad shape with wrinkled vinyl lining. The food is fine. Do not plan to stay more than 2 nights here .I would rate this at maximum 3 starts.
