Near Salt Lake City Airport

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything, read above.
I was unbelievably disappointed with the hotel. The staff was not terribly helpful, they asked for my license and credit card and said they had to copy it! GM's policy! There where people (not guests) hanging around the front door the side doors and pool area, felt like a drug house. We heard talking out side our window and people where standing out there. The shower was disgusting, would not take a shower in it. I was very glad t leave the next morning.

Motel full of barking dogs.

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Our room was clean and thank goodness there was a constant fan cycle to quiet the room. The bed was comfortable and we slept well.
Cons: The motel needs to be updated even more. It is pretty tired, especially on the exterior.
Location: Make sure to have the breakfast at the 126 year old Luxury Café just down the street from the La Quinta. The continental breakfast provided wasn't...
There was a dog show in Cheyenne over the weekend and the La Quinta was full of barking dogs and smelled like wet dogs.

Non Smoking is NOT as advertised!

Posted Aug 30, 2014
I booked a double non-smoking room on 28 August. We stayed on the third floor, and immediately getting out of the elevator all I smelled was cigarette smoke. Our room initially smelled fine, but the sheets and pillows were laden with an overpowering smoke smell. Considering I'd just finished a 7 hour drive I was exhausted, but did not sleep well at all due to the smell. The room was clean enough, however management may want to check all their shower walls for mold as this was present in the bathroom in my room. I would not recommend this hotel, however it was one of only a few that accepted a small dog.

Kind of Average

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Nothing special. Just average.
Cons: Beds could be newer.
Location: The motel was on the outskirts of Cheyenne, WY. Since Cheyenne isn't a really large city, it was close to most attractions.
Wasn't as good as I expected a La Quinta to be. Looked like an old hotel that had been "remodeled". The beds were lumpy, mattresses probably need replacing. Nothing was outstanding, but it wasn't bad for just one night. This motel accepts pets, and we did hear one barking. We love dogs, but not when they are barking when we are trying to sleep! The complimentary breakfast was the usual fare - waffles, cereal, pastries and juice and coffee. There is a restaurant next door which looks like it is about to fall down. We didn't go there, and the parking lot looked full, so it was probably better than it looked!

Unclean hotel

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: The hallway smelt of smoke. The ice machine on the third floor didn't work. And the elevator was dirty and slow.
The staff is nice. But the cleanliness is unsavory. Everything is sticky, and the smell is terrible. Not a place where I wanted my children.

Convenient Hotel, close to highway

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Our room was very clean and comfortable
Cons: Buy a different brand of coffee for your breakfast room!
Location: So much outdoor stuff to do and see. We recommend Curt Gowdy state park, and Terry Bison Ranch.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. However, we were very disappointed with the condition of the stairwells. It looked like they had not been vacuumed in weeks. And, we did not choose the La Quinta for the breakfast option, but we looked forward to a morning cup of coffee. The coffee was horrible. We went to the Village Inn next door for coffee each morning. This hotel is close to the railroad, so there is a lot of train noise 24/7. It didn't bother us, but should be noted for guests looking for a quiet night's sleep.

Good hotel near the I-80

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Bathroom switch malfunction. Sometimes I can't turn it on. Took a shower with no lights. Not a big deal though.

Would not recommend

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: The pool is small, but look nice.
Cons: Deep clean.
Very dirty! They need to do some deep cleaning. Staff was friendly, but did not do a good job of cleaning or picking up trash.

I-80High rate hotel

Posted Aug 2, 2014
I was a little disappointed with this hotel. Not clean at all. I have stayed in other LaQuinta hotels that's the reason we booked this one. Upon arrival the hotel had a muggy smell and the rooms were dusty not feeling clean. A little disappointed but had to stay since there was nothing else available around. The staff were friendly and at least we had a very good breakfast the next day. Not disappointed there. So, the rate is too high for what the hotel had to offer. We had to go to the lobby for Wifi- it was not available in the room. Not planning to use this location again.

I needed a room . . .

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: The room.
Cons: The public spaces.
. . . and I have seen far worse. The general condition of the property is passed the time for refreshment. The room I had was considerably better than the public spaces. It was clean. The bed was reasonably comfortable and everything worked. For the price, I wouldn't complain.
