Simply great!Posted Mar 6, 2014
Our stay here was beautiful! The people, the food, the accommodation, the facilities were so great. We loved staying here and would definitely return again. Not too far from the airport with an easy taxi ride. Couldn't recommend Khum Phaya Resort & Spa highly enough.

Hotel with an excellent ambiance, courteous staffPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: The decor, cleanliness, excellent staff, sprawling swimming pool, beatiful interiors ,landscaping, beatiful spa services on payment, value for money
Cons: wi fi signals are weak. Could include free a la carte room service breakfast .
Location: night bazar on Thursday and Friday - walking distance, Khum Khantok Lanna style sit down dinner and dance at 100 m distance, 7 by 11 shop
Always wanted to stay in a hotel which gives a traditional experience. Had heard about a certain expensive hotel in Chiang Mai, but it sounded 10 times out of budget! So we found everything we wanted in this hotel. Excellent staff, traditional Lanna style decor, sprawling swimming pool, meticulously cleaned surroundings, manicured gardens, comfortable beds, are few of the many good things to be mentioned. Just a walk around in the campus is invigorating. For who those who want more, there is a lovely spa. Most of the Thai attractions to be enjoyed with your family are close by - like the traditional dinner and dance and the night bazar. One can easily visit the zoo, animal shows, night safari -which also has a free mini cabaret etc. Chiang Mai offers you most of the Thai tourist attractions that other cities do, but here, because of less traffic, it's a better experience. I recommend this place and hotel to all. Stay at Cetara Khum Phaya is an experience not to be missed!

Beautiful HotelPosted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: Loved it. This is true Thailand.
Cons: Swim-up bar should be open. There were times when at least 12 people were there waiting for it to open.
Location: The major places on a short visit are the temple hotel at the top of the hill, and the weekend night market (not to be missed).
We only stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, but the experience was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and very tastefully decorated. We had a room which allowed us to walk straight out via our balcony (highly recommended) into a beautiful swimming pool. The whole experience was a dream, and the ladies in the spa were very experienced. The local restaurant was of a very high quality, and the food and service was of a very high standard without being expensive. The tourist rep was very informative, and all services from her were top class. When she arranged something, it met all our expectations, and vehicles were always on time, very experienced, and very accommodating. My only disappointment was that during our time there the swim-up bar was never open.

Centara Khum Phaya is the BESTPosted Jan 23, 2014
Pros: The clean, lush, beautiful grounds, guest service, spa and rooms all excellent.
Location: Bars and restaurants in walking distance. Not many, but if you're looking to stay close for a day, you have options.
This is my second time at this resort. While in Chiang Mai I looked at the other hotels I had considered staying in and Centara Khum Phaya is hands down the best choice not only in this price range, but others more than double the price. I had the opportunity to even recommend it to another couple who were not satisfied with the service or conditions of a competing resort they were paying $70 more per night at. The staff are very warm, friendly and polite. Rooms, facilities and restaurant were all maintained and operated very well. When you enter this property, you forget you're 10 minutes from the city by cab. It is an oasis and the whole place is designed with great detail, lots of greenery and atmosphere. There are restaurants and bars in the area, but it's far from what you find in the old city. The hotel has a tour company on site and we were able to book tours for everything we wanted to see quickly and without any trouble. It is a great deal for what they offer, which is top shelf quality and service. STAY HERE!

good location, beautiful settingPosted Jan 10, 2014
Pros: The staff was very helpful, convenient location to shopping at the Mall
Cons: Maid service was poor, dining facility expensive and slow.
Location: Cultural center next building -- shows every night Mall just down the street--food and shopping
there was construction going on next door so there was noise during the day

Pros: Looks great and is very quiet.
Cons: Service levels need to be boosted. Restaurant improvements might encourage house guests to dine in.
We stayed December 18-24th 2013. The Hotel looks great but everything else is just ok - a little NQR if you know what I mean. We arrived - no towels in our room. Adhering to the 'save water' process, we only asked for our room sheets & towels to be changed during room clean once - again, no towels. The hotel is too far from the old town and key sites for most -and I would advise this to anyone considering a stay. The upside - it's very quiet - despite significant condo developments underway around the hotel. The restaurant was OK - nothing to rave about. Staff were polite but reserved - can't say they were terribly helpful - didn't go out of their way to assist and English skills were low.

Nice resort but few issuesPosted Dec 18, 2013
Pros: He setting of the hotel was great with the pool and spa was beautiful
Cons: Do all repairs needed and wifi
Location: Slightly out of town but hotel offers some shuttle buses
Was really looking forward to staying here. When we arrived it was 1.55pm and our room was not ready for another 45 minutes , could not believe it as check in was 2pm. The room was nice which backed onto the pool but had a few issues. It needed some repairs one of the floor boards had a hole in it and we had to cover over. The bathroom had no towels and the bath look like it still had salts left in it from the previous person. The bed also was rock solid and not comfortable at all. The sheets also looked old and did not smell fresh. Wifi also was poor and kept dropping out. Overall disappointing

Gorgeous getaway on outskirts of Chiang MaiPosted Nov 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Gorgeous resort, located just on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. A getaway from the busy city center. The resort is located near the Thai Cultural center that has nightly thai cultural dance shows with dinner, similar to the Hawaiian luaus only with better food. The resort is also within walking distance to Big C, a department store, convienient store, coffee shop and restaurants. There is a free shuttle from the resort to the city center and shopping. Had every thing to offer. Would recommend anyone to stay there.

Great pool-lots of constructionPosted Nov 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Loved the appearance & pool at this hotel. The pool was one of the nicest we've experienced, beautiful construction details & landscaping. Location is out of center of things so plan extra. $$ for taxis. Good shopping & dining nearby in neighborhood within 3 blocks, don't stay only in the compound as there are good eateries & a very good large local market nearby if you ask at the desk. Also went to We Cook cooking class, very good & fun way to spend an evening. They pick you up & return to hotel. Enjoy!

Very nice and relaxing atmosphere, beautiful villaPosted Nov 16, 2013
Pros: Beautiful and clean presentation
Cons: room information notebook - nothing is mentioned about room service and/or menus. Complimentary shuttle service is limited
Nice little haven to return to after sightseeing or shopping. Beautifully landscaped and presented. No city pollution or noise, however, does require a taxi for almost everything.
