“Holiday Inn Chiang Mai”
The hotel is nice. The Holiday Inns in Southeast Asia are much nicer than in the United States, at least one or steps steps up on the scale. This hotel did not dissapoint. The staff are very good and remembered our names after meeting us the first time. We made several requests of the concierge, and tehy followed through very quickly. We found that the hotel vans were relatively cheap--in most places the hotel car service is very expensive! When looking for places to eat, the concierge did not automatically steer us to the hotel restaurants like most usually do...they graciously told us about nice places that were only a short tuk-tuk ride away. Would return to this hotel again.

“Very nice place to stay”
We were delighted to find this hotel in Thailand and were impressed by the spacious well appointed room, big bathroom (some hotel rooms in London have approx the same size), delicious breakfast (that we enjoyed on the terrace by the river - great view). Room service is fantastic. We ordered dinner a couple of nights - and were served in less than 20 minutes. Congratulations to the chef ! Location is slightly out of town, but a tuk-tuk can take you anywhere in less than 10 minutes. The staff is friendly and helpful, and with few exceptions, they speak pretty good English for Thailand. One more thing - for this kind of hotel, the internet connection should be free of charge. Overall, we would return to Holiday Inn Chiang Mai anytime due to its good value for the price.
“Great service and great value hotel”
This hotel is a little bit off the center of town, but it is very well-maintained and offers excellent service (even by Thailand standards.) Rooms are large and well-maintained. The breakfast buffet is the best in its class in terms of quality and variety -- the exception being the MOST expensive hotels in Asia. The concierge was always extremely helpful -- they booked every restaurant, every tour that we wanted. We were there for five nights, over new years, which is a peak time. It can feel a little hectic -- ie, every table is taken at breakfast, two people waiting for the concierge, etc. Overall, still very high recommendations.

Book the suite instead of a standard room...for a few dollars more you get a very very very large room

This was definitely the nicest Holiday Inn I've ever seen. It is right on the river so there is a nice view and the Tuk Tuks are so cheap you can easily get a ride wherever you need to go. Great breakfast.
