Wouldn’t stay here again
Overall the stay was fine but the room was poorly cleaned and often not cleaned at all because the cleaners came so late in the day. Bathroom had lots of small insects crawling around, surfaces seldom wiped and dirty tea and coffee cups were never taken away. The hotel is also very dated and badly in need of a refurb.

A convenient hotel for sightseeing
The building is not new but the room was big and clean. The staff was very well trained, helpful and friendly. Not in the center but close enough to most sightseeing spots. The hotel is right next to a big supermarket.

Excellent stay, will come again
Even though the hotel and rooms are a bit dated, it was an excellent stay away from the busy noisy town area. The facilities and services are excellent. Will come again to stay in this hotel. The free shuttles to town an excellent service for those who want to go into town for the day or evening.

Service was good, as with most of Thailand. The hotel looked a little dated which doesn’t not help with the overall cleanliness and feel of the hotel. There were small ants around the room, which although was not a huge issue, was not ideal. The free shuttle to the night bazaar was a great touch as you are a little out of the way from the old town.

Fourth satisfactory visit.
This was our fourth time staying at the Mercure Chiang Mai and, realistically, I doubt if we would ever stay anywhere else on any future visits. The staff have always been very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I am unable to comment on any aspects of their food as we have never actually eaten there. We invariably take advantage of the free ‘shuttle’ bus which the hotel provides to & from the Anursan Night Market, which is an added bonus to our stays. The only ‘downside’ of the location of the hotel is that there isn’t really anything in the way of restaurants and bars locally, but the lobby staff can recommend suitable establishments and taxi rides to/from them aren’t very expensive.

Staff were friendly however hotel needs work. We changed room 3 times although staff were accommodating, the rooms are very tired and quite basic. Basic amenties like a towel rail didnt even exist in the bathrooms and some of the earlier rooms had a bad smell

Blah hotel.
Hotel was old, and had a LOT OF ANTS. Location was good. Most of their clients were busloads of tourists. Noisy and messy. Location was good for my needs. Only mainstream hotel in this area. Otherwise I would stay elsewhere. Wifi reception was poor.

Very noisy, bring earplugs
I stayed during Chinese New Year which was a busy period, however even then I was surprised by the amount of noise occurring at 2 - 5am in the morning. Any slight sound in the corridors is amplified and can be heard very clearly. My friends and I stayed in different rooms on different floors and we experienced the same issue.

This is a pretty run down property. It needs major repair. The owners are obviously just milking it for revenue or the manager doest care or hasn't got any money for maintainable. Our room was pretty dirty as well. Long black hairs in shower. Dirt in all corners. It was over priced for the money.

Comfortable hotel near to a Supermarket
We had a good experience in this hotel. If you are looking for an economic and comfortable hotel this is a good option. The breakfast wasn't included but it is very close to a Supermarket where we could buy many things and snacks. There is a tourist office next door and also inside the hotel (both are the same), we booked a tour everyday there, the prices were very good and the service excellent.

Good for the price.
A good motel that needs some renovations if it’s going to remain in the ‘Mercure’ chain. We were upgraded to ‘luxury’, but we’ve stayed in better ‘superior’ accommodation. Staff were great. Location is OK if you don’t mind catching a ride to shop, eat etc.

It's been the best hotel for its price range so far on our trip- 4 hotels so far! Super comfy bed and great bathroom . I also booked a1 hour in room aromatherapy massage for $400 baht ... wished I upgraded to $700 for 2 hours . She was wonderful !

My stay at Mercure Chiang Mai
This is my second stay at mercure Chiang Mai it is a very nice hotel the staff are great and hotel amenities are very good I will be going back again in may. Noel Taylor
