very nice hideway

We enjoyed the service, staff, and facilities and would stay here again. The hotel is just a short free shuttle ride away from the night market and walking streets. Breakfast is served across the street right on the Ping River, very quiet and relaxing. The pool is large with waterwalls. We had a balcony overlooking the pool which was very nice.

Ok but overrated/priced

Posted Apr 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
It was nice but that is about it. We expected a 'WOW' factor for this price ( by Chiang Mai standards it's high) but got none. Although it advertisers two pools, don't be fooled as you have to pay to use the indoor pool (about $55au for 40 mins), and the outside pool isn't as big as it appears or very well maintained with tiles falling off in several place. We had a pool access room, (107) and was very nice and satisfied, we'll until kids start making heaps of noise outside your room. Understand this isn't hotels fault but the parents, however you can't relax. The food and breakfast at the Deck resturant is Devine and the traditional Thai massage at the wellness centre is best ever, just don't get sucked into their witch doctor free service...... Great location to get to markets both night and local day ones, with an array of cool arty stores near by.. We would go again, howvever with a lower expectation.

Wonderful Retreat with Mid-range Price

Posted Mar 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
This resort is conveniently located near the river with the Night Bazaar or the live-music bars in a walking distance, yet not too close to them. The modern low-rise buildings of the guest rooms and the spa are built around a beautifully renovated traditional house, garden and a swimming pool. Even the most economical mid-floor rooms are spacious with pool-view balconies. The buffet breakfast is served at the attached restaurant across the road with a choice of river-view al-fresco deck or indoor seating. And the award-winning spa treatment (I had "aroma-oil" and "Thai traditional" massage, as well as a complementary yoga lesson and "aura analysis") is heavenly! Although this is not a super luxe villas-amid-rainforest/paddy-field sort of resort, what else can I wish for with mid-range price?

Stayed 5 nights on our honeymoon. Amazing service!

Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Service amazing, location close to city but not in it which is good because cars make city air bad, spa great, food very good, value very good
Cons: Pool is a little chilly
Location: Close walk into city, which I thought perfect for above reasons
Service was great as English was some of the best we experienced in Thailand and staff went out of their way to accommodate you.

Good Location

Posted Jan 20, 2014
Cons: Beds are hard as rocks. Common problem in Asia, but you expect better at a 5 star hotel. Also open sewer at back of hotel avoid those rooms.
Location takes a littel getting used to as there are not always sidewalks. Great resturants very close. Easy to wlk to night market and shopping areas and take a tok-tok back.

Rarinjinda is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location. It's located just across the street from the river as well as the famous & trendy Riverside Restaurant & Bar. The walk across the bridge and in to the Old City was about 15 minutes or a $3 tuk tuk ride. I reserved a few extracurricular activities through the hotel concierge service although they weren't able to communicate well about what the activities would actually entail other than price. They recommended private cars over taxis or tuk tuks which in hindsight was more expensive and unnecessary. I may have gone with an outside tour company instead for the lower prices as well. I also discovered that the concierge desk is not actually affiliated with the hotel and therefore, I was not able to get a refund when I cancelled one of my activities that I had pre-scheduled. One of the highlights of Rarinjinda was their amazing Aura Doctor in which I received a free consultation. Their spa is beautiful although pricey and you can get amazing hour long massages in town for far less (1 hour for 200 baht generally which comes to $7). Pretty amazing!

Phenomenal surroundings & top notch hospitality

Posted Nov 21, 2013
Location: The night market, the evening food market, (fabulous!), riding the elephants, visiting many temples, visiting the jade factory.
The concierge went above & beyond in helping us arrange our activities. At one point, one of our travelers was in need of a doctor (it was in in house physician's day off), & Preecha Sonkuen, the concierge, went above & beyond the call of duty. He escorted her to the hospital & stayed with her the entire time! Chiang Mai was by far our favorite leg of the trip, & RarinJinda Wellness Spa had a large part in that wonderful experience! Would come back here without reservation, & l would highly suggest their facilities to anyone.
