Nice and quiet resort in Chiang RaiPosted Nov 13, 2013
Pros: The grounds.
Cons: Rooms are spread out and takes a bit of walking to get to.
Location: Mae Salong is an interesting place to visit, especially if you are interested in the history.
The hotel's location by the river gives it a nice and quiet resort atmosphere. The grounds are beautifully kept. The room is standard Le Meridien and can use more of a Thai touch, but it is clean and comfortable. Lunch in the restaurant can be a good deal if you eat the Thai food.

Breakfast not up to the 4 star I stayed at before here. Staff courteous but aloof.

Meridian Chiang Rai.Posted Jun 30, 2013
Pros: The resort itself and the staff
Cons: Balcony to recieve better cleaning. Only minor issues and that is being very picky.
Location: Great location. Only 80 baht from town centre in a Tuk Tuk
The staff were well trained and went the extra mile both in terms of ganeral service and in my case arranging for urgent quality dental treatment. We travel a lot throughout Asia and overall I would rate the staff and facilities first class. The general manager is on top of everything in this resort. Our stay was for 5 nights. It has a great pool.

Nice hotel but service was a let down.Posted May 27, 2013
Pros: The location and surrounds.
Cons: Staff and service
Location: Peaceful and relaxing
After being at the Siripanna in Chiang Mai, the staff at Le Meridien seemed quite cold. The hotel is quite lovely and peaceful but the service and staff were the weak points.

Romantic excelllencePosted Apr 20, 2013
Pros: The beautiful surroundings, the breakfast buffet, the resort spa, the swimming pool.
Check in is at 12 noon however I arrived just before 11 so it was completely my fault I had to wait an hour or so in the hotel lobby. Offered a drink and was made to feel most welcome with that winning Thai smile. My fiancé and I have stayed here before, but it was only 1 night and we didn't have enough time to fully explore all that the resort offers. This time we booked for 3 nights. The room was gorgeous. The living area, the bed, the bathroom....loved it all. Very romantic too. Went for a romantic walk through the resort gardens, watched a traditional local fisherman on the river, spent some time in the beautiful infinity swimming pool and then decided to check out the resort spa. Omg. Simply amazing. Unfortunately we didn't have time for a couples massage (due to other commitments) but we will definitely love to try it. The treatment rooms and the private outdoor bath for 2 filled with milk. Looks wonderful. I cannot speak highly enough of this place. It is the best.

Ok for a nightPosted Feb 20, 2013
Pros: The bed
Cons: Breakfast fee, Internet fee not made to feel special when you are in most hotels in Thailand
Location: Little outside the centre, you'll need a taxi
Pretty average for a 5 star hotel. Disappointed that breakfast wasn't included in the room price, not even an option on expedia (sort it out expedia) as it was £32 for two people. No free wifi in room, again a large surcharge. We were in and out pretty quickly which helped, ok for one night only.

Big modern style hotelPosted Dec 10, 2012
Pros: The bed and sheets!
Cons: Irritating free wifi login and charging for wifi in the room
Location: On the outskirts of town but near a couple of local restaurants.
Is a large sprawling building split into several different buildings that all look identical so it is easy to get lost! The rooms are enormous and decorated in white and black which gives it a stark look. It had a curious business like feel to it: there was a desk instead of a dressing table. The bed (the sheets which were very high quality silky soft cotton) was particularly comfortable. The bath was wide but not long & took forever to fill. There was a separate shower with a seat, separate loo and a large sink. There was a separate dressing area with space to hang clothes & put 1 suitcase,a large safe,a large flat screen TV with several English channels as well as a DVD player that played English DVDs. There was a row of power sockets although none close to the bed!I had a large terrace with a hardwood daybed overlooking the garden & pool area. The most annoying thing of all was the Wi-Fi system at the hotel which was only free in the public areas and necessitated inputting your password and login name each time you entered the area as well as agreeing to 3 pages of conditions! Furthermore it struggled to email the smallest of attachments. The breakfast the hotel produced was disappointing; the croissants were very soggy and heavy. It took forever to be served coffee and the range of items on offer reflected badly compared with the choices at my hotel in Bangkok. There are several cheap restaurants dinner 5 mins walk away. The hotel provides two computers for guests.

Fabulous R&RPosted Dec 3, 2012 on Hotels.com
We loved all aspects of our time at Le Meridien. Thought an additional nice touch would have been an orchid or similar in the room. The staff in all areas were excellent and the facilities exceeded expectations.
