B&B tucked away in the tuscan countryside

Posted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: It was comfortable and clean and provided us with an excellent base for our day trips to local towns and cities. We could come and go as we pleased.
Cons: It was perfect for what it was but if anything the decor could be updated. Some other guests were noisy however this can't be helped.
Location: Panzarno is not too far away and has heaps to offer for a very small town. Definitely need a car to drive from place to place.
We spent 4 nights at II Casello Country B&B and stayed in a self-contained apartment. It had everything you could ask for whilst on holidays. It was an ideal place to stay and to use as a base to explore the chianti region. Paolo & Angelica are very welcoming and friendly. They were very helpful with recommendations on places to visit and restaurants. We tried many of Paolo's recommendations and loved them all. Paolo was very helpful in booking restaurants for us and giving us directions. Taco (Paolo and Angelica's dog) was full of energy and we enjoyed having her around. She has a beautiful nature and is quite mischievous.

Wonderful guest house in great location!

We stayed in Belvedere one of the 1-bed apartments for 4 nights. It was very comfortable for 2 but would have been a bit tight for 4. It was well furnished though a few more utensils in the kitchen would have been useful. It had a private sitting out area but there were plenty of other places to sit with a glass of wine and admire the beautiful surroundings. The pool had plenty of loungers and was a real sun trap. We did not have the breakfast as we were self catering , but it was available if we had wanted for an additional charge. There is a BBQ available to use which is not mentioned on the website. Sylvia and Julia were very welcoming and ready to help with any queries. Il Casello is well positioned for touring the area and even has a vineyard on the doorstep (Casaloste) for wine tasting tours without having to drive.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future..

IL CASELLO in Chianti a great Tuscan experience

Posted Sep 17, 2012
Pros: location and amenities
Il Casello was centrally located between Greve and Panzano in Chianti. Situated in a rural setting with good amenities including a pool and lovely outdoor terraces to enjoy the countryside and a glass of local wines and cheeses with friends. You had a choice of B&B in the main house or appartment options which would suit families. Il Casello is in easy reach of other Chianti villages and for a day trip to Siena. There are good resturaunts in easy reach of the house. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
