A jem in ChiantiPosted Jul 22, 2010
Great quiet place, do not worry when arriving down a step gravel 1 lane road, once there, it is an ideal location. You will need to use your car since you are approx. 5 km north of Castellina in Chianti. Restaurent was good but a little expensive. Room was large and clean, we were in the main building facing the back side of the resort. Very quiet, wke-up in the morning by singing birds, this resort is in the middle of a lush forest. Only negative, with its great location, it is sad that management was not able to put restaurent in location with view. Breakfast good but beware, only 'american' coffe is included, espresso, capuccino and latte will be charged to your room (staff did not mention this upon ordering). 2 pools with nice forest view. Overall great choice, strongly recommend it.

Lovely Chianti LocationPosted Oct 5, 2009 on Hotels.com
We had a lovely time staying 2 nights at this well looked after hotel. The Castellina vineyard is a 2 minutes drive away, where we were explained the type of grape and olives with a bit of history to it. Of course, we bought some of it home ! A recommendation to those who want a little peace and a nice drive, rather than the urban streets of florence. Only improvement I would suggest would be the bathroom, but many may prefer the contemporary style.

Stunning rural locationPosted Oct 27, 2008 on Hotels.com
Having only the web site to guide us we were not sure what to expect. After turning of the 'main' road and driving down the mile long track we were stunned by what we found. The hotel was a small village nestling on the valley side, converted back in the 50's to a hotel by the same family that still run it. The rooms are in the various buildings around the village square. Beautiful gardens with 2 pools. Perfect for just 'chilling out'. Excellent centre for the Chianti area and Florence/Sienna. A car is essential. We will definitely go back again.
