True Villa Experience

Posted Oct 26, 2014
Everything about this experience was first rate. The opportunity to stay in such a unique environment is wonderful and the modification of the building to accommodate it's function as a modern hotel is amazing. A wonderful staff, reading lounges with an array of books, grounds to wander, and fresh flowers in the room are but a few of the benefits.

Bucolic Chianti at its best

Posted Oct 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
The idyllic place for the Tuscany lover, this romantic palazzo set in a stunning Renaissance villa in the heart of the Chianti Classico Region has big rooms exquisitely decorated with lots of storage space and beautiful tile bathrooms with big windows overlooking the gentle hills of the famous wine region. The excellent breakfast is served in the restaurant where a gourmet dinner is available every night.

Lovely place to relax in heart of Chianti.

Pros: Rustic elegance.
Location: Not on our GPS, but easy to find once we saw signs. Good homebase or stop while touring Chianti. You must have a car, or touring bike to reach hotel.
A lovely hilltop villa. Attractive rooms, great views. Nice looking pool, weather too cool for us to try. Dinner menu looked great, a bit pricey. We were too full from lunch to partake. Parking easy. Nearby village of Panzano is cute. No lift, well outside of town only downsides.

We enjoyed a lot of Villa Le Barone, great location in Panzano and Greve in Chianti. Beautiful gardens, friendly staff!

Romance in peace!

Posted Aug 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed here for 4 nights with my wife on our honeymoon. We had rented a car to get to this hotel as it is no where near any public transport. the location of the hotel is good if you have a car and want to drive to near by cities ie Florence or Sienna or small towns such as Lamole, Castelli etc...The hotel offered decent breakfast. Lunch and dinner were pre planned and had to be booked in advance. Great property, with a tennis court, pool, a bar by the fire place, library etc......

A place to relax

This is a fabulous place if you want some piece and quiet and just want to relax. Service was great, food was excellent, the pool was quiet, and the village is well worth a visit!

Le Barone was a great choice! Excellent views from its lofty perch. A beautiful pool area and gardens. Excellent, fresh food and the owner was such a great representative for the property. We were made to feel at home in Tuscany.

Relatively overpriced

Posted Oct 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
On arrival and on seeing the quite small standard room tucked away at the back of the grounds, we decided that because it was part of our honeymoon (2 week Tuscan roadtrip) we would upgrade to a better room in the main house for our 2-night stay. Hotel, food, aspect, pool etc. all great but unfortunately the cost was not. One would be wrong to assume that the change to a vacant room on your honeymoon would have been gratis when unsatisfied. For what was still an average room relative to other places we stayed (i.e. Castello di Casole, Villa Armena, Riva Lofts etc), we paid approx. £400 per night which in comparison it was not worth.

Lovely Stay

Wonderful stay in an elegant villa in Chianti. Fantastic service, unbelievable grounds and views, terrific restaurant. Bathroom was a bit small by American standards but had lovely bath products.
