Located on Tokyo Bay, Chiba features the well-known Chiba City Museum of Art. The museum runs an estimated six exhibitions a year and focuses on artwork connected to the Boso region, Japanese painting and woodblocks from as far back as the Edo period, and contemporary artwork. The city's main tourist draw is the five-floor Chiba Castle, a reconstruction of the original castle first built in 1126.
