BW Grant Park

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Not much. The elevator worked and the bed was ok.
Cons: New building with level floors and non-scary hallways
Location: Location was fine
Lobby was underwhelming. Elevator was nice but it turned south after stepping off the elevator. The hallway was scary at best and our room was literally was sloped. We slept with our feet above our heads due to the room pitch. The bed was nice but everything else was terrible. There are some $10/night youth hostels in better condition than this $200/night hotel.

First nights in Chicago

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Hotel is nicely located next to grant park and just round the corner from Roosevelt metra station. The hotel was adequate although decor was dated. Corridors were very dingy and lobby area in need of a facelift. Room was clean and comfortable and included wi-fi.

Decent hotel. Dated but clean. Comfy room

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Good for food and entertainment. About 10/15min walk from the busy part of downtown. A bit run down on the outside but room was comfortable and airy. Good that they have free wifi as some hotels around you have to pay - in this day in age! Friendly staff - recommended good places to eat. I always like that!

Cons: Decor is outdated. Room a little cramped. Mini fridge would have been nice.
Stayed for 3 nights, wanted to be close to Grant Park. Staff were helpful.

Very poor service

Posted Jul 1, 2014
When I booked I paid $25 extra per night for a king size bedroom. When I checked in they gave me a room with two twin beds, I called reception and they told me that they were full, and that they could have change rooms only two days later. When the day had come, I waited to be changed but they never did. I called again and the lady in front desk told me that I never expressed my will to change rooms. Worse than that was that on the day I had to leave, I specifically ask TWICE to wake me up at 3:30am because I had to take a flight at 5:00 am, and that I needed a taxi to the airport. Not only that nobody woke me up, they didn't called a cab, and the lady at front desk told me that she couldn't help me getting a taxi. I almost loose my flight. Is the poorest service I've experienced.

Beautiful view from a clean room

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: The view, accessibility, comfortable beds.
Cons: The pool area could be nicer and a mini fridge would be appreciated.
Location: Walk across the street to Museum Campus and the lake front. Also , there is a Trader Joes grocery 1 block away by the "L" station which is convenient
We had a double rood on the 6th floor with a lovely view of Museum Campus, the lake and downtown. I was thrilled to have a nice room at a reasonable price in Chicago. The beds are very nice and the comforter covers are washed, rather than being those strange covers. It's two blocks from the trains and an easy 15 minute walk to Millennium Park. The staff helped us with transportation further afield in the city and stored our luggage for free before and after our check in and check out which was super helpful. The pool is not heated and it's old, very basic, but the rooftop view is pretty and it was clean.

Pros: price
Used this hotel for a business overnight. It was perfect for me alone. I wouldn't recommend as a nice hotel. Small room older bed (could use new ones) great for in and out of Chicago.

Location, Location, location! Excellent!

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Location, rates, and staff were all excellent!
The Best Western Grant Park is the best bang for your buck! Located right on Michigan Ave., it is just a hop, skip and a jump away from Lake Michigan, Shedd Acquarium and the Field Museum. Additionally, this hotel is located in a primium place for any recreational activity. My son and I would wake up early in the morning, head off across the street to Grant Park and run, walk and sprint our way under Lake street overpass and on toward the water. There we would head North toward Mullenium Park boardering the lake and all its beauty before tromping down Michigan Ave. back toward our original starting place. A great 20 minute jaunt. Rooms were a bit small, hallways a bit saggy, but you are not in Chicago to spend your days inside! The hotel staff were very accomodating to all our needs. Great experience!

Close to the Museums and Parks

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Nice rooms, conveniently located
Cons: having the pool open
Good place to stay with kids. Very close to Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum and walkable distance to most other places (or not too expensive cab rides away/back). Only negative was the pool being closed during our stay (mid-june)

The hotel is in great location, rest are ok-type, given the location and price - I would say its fair deal.
