Ok older hotel, nice enough for the price, hallway noise excessive, vending/ice machine inconvenience, front desk staff nice, room clean

Perfect location! Close to everything, transit is nearby too! Grant park across the street is beautiful and has an amazing path to walk and bike. The water is right there and is spectacular!

Very Noisy

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: The beds were comfortable but short.
Cons: Put in better windows to cancel out sound.
Location: Walking distance from the museum campus.
There was a huge number of foot traffic, leaving the park from across the street. This usually occurred around midnight (after a concert). There were people playing bucket drums at this time. Also people popping balloons for about 30 minutes. We at first thought it was gun fire. We were on the 8th floor and could hear everything clearly. The last day there, was a 5K run, which included a live band...at 6:30am! The door wouldn't close properly so you had to pull it shut very hard. This would cause slamming of the doors throughout the night.

I stayed here for a conference for about a week. The hotel is good. The staff was extremely helpful and professional. They tried to help as much as they can. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh linen. The location is perfect everything is close by.

Family Trip to Chicago

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Location to Shedds Aquarium, Millennium Park, and the CTA.
Cons: Our door would only shut if we pulled very hard on it. Several times we came back after our room was cleaned and found the door was not fully locked.
Location: Near Shedds Aquarium, Field Museum, Millennium Park, and easy access to the CTA. Grant Park was located directly across the street.
We stayed at the Grant Park Best Western while visiting Chicago with our family. The hotel was located in close proximity to Shedds Aquarium, the Field Museum, and Millennium Park. We were able to find places to eat and purchase food to eat during our stay. The CTA was easily accessible as well. The location provided us with ample opportunities to sight see, eat, and travel easily throughout the south part of Chicago.

Great location

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: I liked the hotel's proximity to many attractions!
Cons: The decor could be updated, as well as the door could be more sound-proof.
The Best Western Grant Park is very close to the main loop as well as many amenities and attractions. For this feature, I would recommend the hotel. Most of the hotel staff were personable, and all were helpful. On the flip side, the hotel is very much dated, and there isn't a strong sound barrier between the room door and the hallway; we could often hear other guests' doors banging shut at all hours, as well as noise in the hallway.

Nice hotel conveniently located to CTA transit.

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Location!
Cons: More amenities and a better restaraunt.
I spent 5 days in Chicago. The hotel is located on the "South Side" in the Grant Park area. The staff was nice and pretty knowledgable. My room was clean and the cleaning staff did a nice job. The hotel location was convenient. I did not rent a car, although the hotel does have parking, and depended on public transit. There were bus lines within 2 block and the train was 4 blocks away!
