Couldn't be more friendly

Posted Dec 7, 2014
Pros: Large rooms, comfortable beds with beautiful linens, and the best staff ever.
Cons: The place is undergoing a major upgrade, but the disruptions were amazingly minor. Things are still being fine-tuned.
Location: Two blocks from an L station, easy access to great local shops and restaurants, great for visits to Northwestern University.
The current renovation of the hotel and the REALLY cold weather created a couple of glitches on my most recent visit, but this is still my go-to place for large, comfortable rooms; reasonable rates; and the best staff anywhere.

Good location, loud El noise, bad parking ramp

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Pros: Close to downtown Evanston.
Cons: More facility upgrades.
Remodeled room bathroom was good, nice beds but still sticking bathroom door, gap in hallway door, hard to move curtains, some ceiling spots. Noisy El across the street. Parking is $14 per day and hard to get to entrance over steps.

It was better than what you would expect from a hotel like this, actually more comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was free and decent, the room key gives you a discount at a solid restaurant/bar (prairie moon), and staff was friendly.

Excellent staff despite renovation noise

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: Breakfast staff
I had to book this hotel because everything in Chicago was sold out. I am normally accustomed to 4/5 star hotels so I didn't have extremely high expectations. The staff was extremely nice and the rooms were ok. The bad thing was the renovations currently taking place. Very loud noise in the morning which disrupted sleep. As well as window washers in the morning. The complimentary breakfast was much better than expected. They give you more than pastries and cereal.

Good for overnight

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: Comfort of bed
Cons: General condition of lobby/reception, hallways.
Location: University appointments and events.
Had stayed in hotel years ago, and was very pleased then. Was disappointed this time in the sad lobby area and breakfast area not quite up to par - in dire need of reburbishing. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking easily accessible. Price good.

Great Location

Posted Nov 13, 2014
Pros: People. Location.
Location: Right across the street from Tommy Nevin's Irish Pub. Located in Downtown Evanston with tons of shops, restaurants. 5 minute walk from Northwestern.
The Hotel is under construction. I expect it will be much nicer once they finish the updates. It is an awesome location and the people are very friendly and helpful.

Great location -NU, shopping, restaurants

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Cons: Put mini fridge in rooms
Great location for any NU events. Right in the middle of tons of resturants and shopping. Great breakfast included daily. No fridg or microwave in rooms though.
